When Heather was pregnant with her 2nd child, she struggled to find a good resale shop in the Plano area. Although she was well stocked on boys clothes, having a girl left her starting over and having to collect clothes all over again.
At the time, the only somewhat decent option was to venture into one of the chain resale stores which always seemed cramped and difficult to manage! (And forget about trying to bring in a stroller!) You could spend hours digging through buckets of shoes and pulling hangers out of the overstuffed racks. And when the time came to trade in those used clothes for cash, it never seemed like a fair deal.
Heather really loved the idea of consignment, but hated the idea of having to enter items, hang, pin, tag, & drop off/pick up at a consignment sale, plus having to wait until the sale comes around once or twice a year. Which is when an idea hit her! Why not offer what the competition doesn’t– a boutique that’s easier to shop and maneuver, but also takes in consignments?
After finding herself the victim of a layoff , she decided to make her dream a reality!
Bye & Buy Children’s Resale & Consignment Boutique offers customers high quality brands and products at a great price. You’ll find their merchandise fully stocked but well organized and easy to sort through. There’s no overstuffed racks, buckets of shoes, nor are items outside getting damaged by the elements!
This store really does have the best of both worlds! There’s a large selection of clothing and larger baby accessories similar to what you’d see in your typical resale store; however they also offer a well-stocked maternity section (which can be extremely difficult to find) that you won’t usually see in a boutique.
Bedding, toys, and larger items like strollers, jumpers, and swings were carefully displayed around the store or hung for easy viewing on the wall.
Just like other resale stores or sales, all of the items are gently used and well cared for. You’ll find name brands like Polo by Ralph Lauren, Rocawear and Baby Gap, but also a great selection of generic brands for every day use.
Like a boutique, there are adorable accessories like burp clothes, pacifier clips, and sippy cup leashes for purchase that had all been made locally–as well as brand new (in package) leggings for girls at resale prices. Bows have also been custom made for the store to match outfits you might find during any season.
Bye & Buy Children’s Resale also works with a local business to provide custom-made pieces. While browsing, I spied a beautiful Christmas themed skirt and embroidered top as well as a little First Birthday outfit! If there is something specific you would like to have made, Bye & Buy works with you to select fabric and colors that will fit your needs!
Bye & Buy Children’s Resale & Consignment Boutique is open Tuesday-Friday from 10am-7pm and Saturday from 10am-5pm.
