A few months ago we sent out an open call for a photographer who’d be willing to help out our contributors with some new head shots and group photos. We had a lot of willing participants, but finding a photographer who’d feel comfortable working with our large group was a little more difficult than we’d expected. Trying to imagine blending others work with our vision wasn’t easy, but in the end, Photo Jewels Photography stuck out as the obvious choice!
Leading up to our shoot, we had a lot of anxiety. It was right in the middle of rainy, Texas, Spring weather, and things weren’t looking good for our outdoor plans.
Then, as Saturday morning rolled around, the rain moved past, our favorite hair salon, drybar Northpark opened up an hour early to do our hair, and everything seemed to be falling into place.
But it wasn’t until we arrived at White Rock Lake that we discovered how little was in our control.
Within minutes, the humidity caused all of our hair to fall flat, the air was almost bitter cold coming off of the trash-filled lake, and we ended up in a slightly muddy area where the horses apparently love to use the bathroom.
Julie was a professional!
Even with 13 women, it only took about an hour, and we had our shots. . .
and our photos turned out perfect!
