This Nursery Belongs To:Β Jayden Mercy
Location:Β Dallas, TX
Room Size:Β 11 X 11
What was your inspiration for this room?Β My inspiration was a friendβs sweet puppy and/or honeysuckle pink and navy color combination.Β Though our little Jayden is our second baby girl, she is the first we got to decorate a girly nursery for since we chose to keep our first daughterβs gender a surprise.
What did you do first in this room? I donβt remember where I found the pattern we used on the wall but I knew we had to incorporate it somehow. Once it was on the wall, I painted the navy puppy silhouettes on canvasβ I found on sale (2 for $3.25 due to minor damage) at Michaelβs. The rest of the room came together so easily after that!
What is one thing you are most proud of about this room? My proudest DIY project in this room would definitely have to be the white puppy pillow because I’ve never sewn a pillow before that. And the chandy/mobile would come in a close second! (Debbie also designed, printed and then framed Jayden’s birth announcement!)
What was one of the biggest challenges you faced? The biggest challenge I came across was finding bedding that fit the color scheme. So I bought solid baby pink crib sheets, a solid navy bumper and sewed up my own crib skirt. (Ps. I plan on turning the bed skirt into valances once theyβre done being a part of the βcrib beddingβ)
Were you working with a budget when designing this nursery? Our budget: This room was created on a budget, of course. (We take good care of Ruben – he is currently our only source of income!!!) We spent more or less about $100. We already had most of the stuff. We painted the crib & changing table white. The glider was given to us by a friend who no longer needed it.Β We basically only bought paint, the mirror over the changing table, fabric for the bed skirt, canvases and curtains.
This may be my favorite DMB article to date!!! I LOVE DIY-ers and creative inspirations! Love the doggie canvas art!!!
I love it too!! She didn’t say, but I like to think Bauer was the inspiration for the wall art and pillow π (at least, that’s what I told Bauer)
I’d say Bauer was definitely the inspiration for this room!!! π
SUPER CUTE! I love this nursery tour idea!
Cute! That is so awesome that you put up this post today because JUST THIS MORNING before you even put up this post, I was thinking how I wish you guys would do nursery tour section. I even looked on the Scottsdale site to see if they had it. I was going to text Lauren requesting it but I thought 7:30AM was too early to send DMB post requests π Keep these coming!
DMB demands that Lauren be on call at all times, so don’t hesitate to text her DMB-related questions at ANY time π So glad we were able to read your mind!
So cute!! You did a great job! I love the pink and blue wall!!
I want to show off Baby Kai’s! My husband did an awesome job on it!! π
We should totally do that! I’m sure everyone would love to see it!
This room was so fun to bring together! Thanks so much Casey, Lauren and DMB for featuring it! π
What a great room! I’m loving the design on the wall. So cool!
