My 9-year-old son can climb anything — and he does. A few years ago I set out to be intentional to take him to all sorts of climbing/obstacle course type places and he loved it. To my surprise, my younger girls loved it too! One time, an employee set up a competition between a group of kids ages 5-12, and every single one of them was so into it. They loved it. The play was fun, but the competition/race aspect was their favorite.
Their love of obstacle course competition is the reason I am so excited to sign my kids up for the Youth Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course race in DFW on April 21. Opportunities to compete in this way are few and far between, so I am SO thrilled that Conquer Youth is coming to Dallas! This fun event caters to ninjas ages 5-17, encouraging them to put down the screens and challenge themselves on a set of unique obstacles. The course is approximately 1 mile (even my 5 year old can do this!) and offers 10 crazy, fun, challenging obstacles. All Young Lions participants receive a quality finisher shirt, medal, wristband, and free race photos.
Wisely, the team separates obstacle lanes for the big kids from the designated lanes for smaller ones. (So despite the opportunity to crush your competition, no one will get physically crushed).
