A Wine Guide for Busy Moms

0

Guide to Wine (1)Moms, you’re busy. You work, raise kids, prepare meals, wash clothes, kiss boo-boos, stop wrestling matches, participate in school activities, and occasionally have a social life. There is a chance that strolling the wine aisle at your local Specs isn’t part of your action-packed day. So, I decided to do the legwork for you…I know, it was a brave mission but someone had to taste the wines in order to compile and quick and dirty wine list for all your needs.

So here are some of my go-to wine choices for various occasions in my mom-life.

Best Friend’s Birthday :: Rosa Regale

Price – $20, It’s a pink sparkling wine that is slightly dry with hints of strawberry, raspberry, and Heaven. (You’re not allowed to call it champagne since it’s made in Italy and not Champagne, France…Oui?)

Host/Hostess Gift :: Meiomi (Pinot Noir)

Price – $20, This is our go-to gift and we high-five whenever we find it on restaurant wine lists. Hints of berry, oak, blueberry, raspberry, mocha, and spice. How do I describe this awesome wine? It’s like drinking a hug.

New Mom Gift :: Sofia Blanc de Blancs Blend

Price – $15, Every new mom needs diapers, wipes, swaddling blankets, and delicious sparkling wine in a can. These chic, adorable, “champs in a can” beverages even come with their own straw!

Class up your Fish Sticks :: Kim Crawford (Sauvignon Blanc)

Price – $14, This is the wine that got me into wines. It has citrus and tropical fruit flavors with a hint of herbs. Fun fact when chatting with friends- Kim is a GUY and he actually sold his brand years ago. Thankfully, it’s still delicious.

Oyster Bay (Chardonnay)

Price – $12, Fuller wine with fruit flavors, oak, and a creamy finish. Both of these wines are from the Marlborough region of New Zealand which, like Beyonce, seems to only create hits.

Pair with Leftover Hotdogs :: Acacia Pinot Noir

Price – $15, This fruit forward wine is easy to drink and tastes great after a long PTA meeting.

Michael David Petite Petit Syrah

Price – $15, My husband said my list was a little on the light side, so I’m adding this bolder red to the mix. This is a full-bodied wine with hints of blackberry and vanilla. We love it but your wussy wine drinking friends may not be able to handle it.

Impress your Boss :: Cakebread (Cabernet Sauvignon)

Price – $70, Cabernet Sauvignon is a safe gift as most red drinkers can appreciate a good cab. This family owned winery has become a household name due to their success in the business. Your boss will love you as much as the wine.

Bunco :: VINTJ (Sauvignon Blanc)

Price – $7.99, This Trader Joe’s special is cheap, good, and goes well with Chick-fil-a.

Cheers, Mom.
