Where to Find Splash Pads in Dallas

This post is exclusively a roundup of Dallas area splash pads and play fountains, because sometimes you need a quick reference for FREE fun. Splash pads are also great because they’re one of those activities all your kids can enjoy, no matter their ages. A rarity!

Klyde Warren Park, Dallas

(2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway)
It’s no secret that we love Klyde Warren Park. And they really takes it up a notch with various water features to provide relief from the Texas heat. Keep in mind that unless you’re there during a weekday, the kids area can get a bit crowded.

Insider tip: The fountains in front of the Muse Family Performance Pavilion (park map) aren’t as packed and offer a wide open space for everyone to jump in and cool off a bit.

City of Dallas Spraygrounds 

The City of Dallas operates 11 different splash pads. For a complete listing of Dallas splash pads, check out their locations and individual hours. We like the Campbell Green sprayground, which is steps away from their regular playground, so the kids can easily go back and forth.

Ronald Kirk Bridge, Dallas

(109 Continental Avenue)
Grab dinner or dessert (OR HAPPY HOUR!) at the family-friendly Trinity Groves area, then walk over to the pedestrian-only Ronald Kirk Bridge and Felix Lozada Gateway (formerly Continental Avenue Bridge). Have fun on the bridge’s water features or get caught up in a game of over-sized chess as you take in the sweeping views of downtown.

Yumlicious, Richardson

Enjoy froyo and toppings as the kids run around in the fountain feature across the street. Beware that on occasion, it seems like every other area family has this same idea! 

W.J. Thomas Splash Park, Carrollton

(1955 N. Perry Rd.)
They filled in an old swimming pool and replaced it with Carrollton’s first splash pad, complete with spray features and large shady trees for picnics. Parents can stay dry at a nearby wooden deck and spread out all the towels and sunscreen on large picnic tables.

Oak Hills Splash Park, Carrollton

(1225 Royal Palm Lane)
Open May 1 to October 15 from 9am–8pm, this is another spot in Carrollton where you’ll run into people you know on hot summer days! There’s a pavilion, restrooms, tables, and grills for public use.

Addison Circle Park, Addison

We appreciate the shade this park has along the fountains and shallow water area where the kids play. And there’s a Marble Slab nearby, in case you feel like being an extra nice mom.

Civic Garden, Dallas

(1014 Main St.)
You’re so urban, so hip. Civic Garden, formerly Belo Garden is located in the center of downtown Dallas. It underwent an extensive landscaping and fountain renovation in summer 2020 that saw the addition of lots of native plants, flowers, and grasses. The three interactive water features in the park light up with colorful LEDs at night, which you know makes things extra magical.

Main Street Garden Park, Dallas

Speaking of urban… head downtown for a fun summer outing and enjoy the toddler play area, water features, and piped in music at this downtown block park. They even have Wi-Fi. Have lunch or all-day breakfast at Overeasy, the cool diner in The Statler across the street.

Windhaven Meadows Park, Plano

If you need a splash pad that’s open before May 1, the all-abilities Liberty Playground at Windhaven Meadows Park has you covered. There’s a bigger kid playground, toddler playground, and great splash pad all in the same spot. It’s a big, well-designed play area, and you can’t go wrong spending the afternoon here.

Parr Park Sprayground, Grapevine

Another great option that’s right next to a playground for plenty of back and forth opportunities. There’s a couple covered picnic tables here and also surrounding trees that would be good to post up under with chairs and blankets.

Heritage Springs Splash Pad at Heritage Park, Flower Mound

(600 Spinks Rd.)
Looking for a perfectly shaded splash pad? This one has 14 unique water features plus a separate area for toddlers. In addition to the shade structures over the splash zone, there are also shaded seating areas to help you avoid that harsh sun.

The Fountain at Fairview Town Center, Fairview

(329 Town Place)
Run errands at the shops, then get chips and black bean dip from Gloria’s to snack on while your kids splash in the interactive fountain. The Fountain’s dancing waters are choreographed to music during their Fountain Shows and 7pm and 8pm daily.

Frisco Commons Park, Frisco

(8000 McKinney Rd)
This splash pad is operational even in times of drought, because of its reliance on recycled well water, not drinking water. Pack a picnic and enjoy the large pavilion or the several other shady picnic table areas. Hint: the link above lists a couple other Frisco splash pads if you need ’em.

Celebration Park, Allen

(701 Angel Pkwy)
This park is huge and has both a splash pad and a fantastic inclusive playground—you’ll be able to spend a long time here is what we’re saying. Make a note: the splash pad is closed every Wednesday for maintenance.

Forney Community Park, Forney

(241 S. FM 548)
The booming town of Forney is home to a fun park and playground, with features including a rock-climbing wall and large climbing structures that the older kids will enjoy. When everyone is hot and sweaty, head on over to the splash pad. The water centerpiece is modeled after a grain elevator silo, giving nod to the city’s farming heritage.

Harry Myers Park, Rockwall

(815 E Washington)
Although Rockwall has a great pool within Harry Myers Park, sometimes you don’t want the time or financial commitment of an entire pool experience. Sneak over to the other side of the park and discover a wonderful and free sprayground to burn off an hour or so of fun. Also try The Park at Foxchase Sprayground or The Park at Hickory Ridge Sprayground if you’re in the area!
