Every mom knows, the best place for your kids to run out energy and have a moment with friends while sipping coffee is at the park. If you’re a Dallas mom, you need to know about Klyde Warren Park. You probably drive by it, or under it, regularly. Under it? That’s right! The Park is built on top of Woodall Rodgers Freeway. And it’s conveniently located right between Downtown and Uptown–the perfect green space to bring Dallas together!
The Park has huge lawns for kids to run around and a perfect little Children’s Park that’s gated for your kiddos to run around safely. Meet for a playdate with your best mom-friend and watch your little ones burn off enough energy for a solid naptime! Not only that, but there are plenty of water features and splash pads to cool off in this lingering, hot summer.
Did you know?
The Park isn’t just a great place for your kiddos to run around, Klyde Warren Park also provides daily educational programming that’s perfect for young children who aren’t yet in school. Every Tuesday, kids can play in the Imagination Playground “where they can build a new world every time they play using the larger-than-life Imagination Playground blocks.” In addition, you can stay for Miss Kimberly, who always has a large crowd for music and story time!
For your older kids, you can take them to Laser Tag on the last Friday night of each month and play laser tag through the park, or Family Game Night on Wednesday evenings! Klyde Warren Park offers amazing events like this, all year long, including: movie nights on the lawn, Holiday events, and food truck rallies.
Not just for kids.
Certainly it’s nice to have a great place to take the kids, but the Park offers plenty for parents and adults, too. The food trucks offer a great place to grab lunch in the middle of a hectic day at work, or while you’re enjoying any of the free events, like yoga or a concert, over the weekend. Grab a drink from Relish at the Southwest Porch and enjoy a stroll around the Park!
But, how do they do it?
Here’s the thing. Klyde Warren Park doesn’t receive any public funding and relies on contributions from donors to support special programming and educational activities, as well as provide a clean, safe environment, for more than one million visitors each year. That means, in order to continue enjoying this amazing park in the very heart of Dallas, it needs support. Klyde Warren Park offers ways to volunteer and support this amazing space.
Park & Palate
Later this fall, Klyde Warren Park will host Park & Palate–an amazing food and wine festival right in the Park, where you can help support the Park that provides a great environment for our families! They have generously provided a :: discount code :: for the Grand Taste event for our DMB readers! Take advantage by using code: DMB15 when you purchase your tickets for this delicious event taking place on October 27!
