In 2011, the idea of Dallas Moms Blog began with two friends wanting to connect other moms in the Dallas community. It started small by sharing weekend adventures and simple tips for stay-at-home survival but quickly grew into a community filled with personal stories and honest, positive advice from a small, diverse group of women.

It’s been eight years since we excitedly wrote a post about the Valley View Mall playspace, and since then, Dallas Moms Blog has grown into much more than a blog.

We are a team of thirty strong, beautiful, confident women who represent our diverse and amazing community and our mission has remained the same — to connect moms in-person and online to information and parenting perspectives unique to our community as we firmly believe that there is no one “right” way to be a mom in the Dallas metroplex. We host several fun and rewarding events for families and moms each year, we share products and ideas regularly on our site and social media, we provide guides for local and traveling parents, and we connect local Moms far beyond our posts through our expansion site, Collin County Moms, and neighborhood and community groups.

It’s time to transform our name and website to reflect all that we desire to provide our community. A cleaner, easier to navigate, mobile-friendly website filled with familiar content, resources, and personal stories, but updated to include a Business Directory and Calendar of Events.

While our updated look and feel may be different, we will always continue to grow with our original purpose in place: to connect and build our Dallas Moms community.

Krystal Hurst
Krystal is a Dallas-native who began her career as a fourth grade teacher in Richardson RISD, but quickly changed paths to became a stay-at-home mom in 2011. Through a happy coincidence, she stumbled upon (what was then known as) Dallas Moms Blog in 2012 and found a community she’d been looking for since coming a mom. Shortly after joining the team, she gratefully accepted the “baton” passed to her as new owner of the site, and took off with it running full speed! Krystal not only helped to grow Dallas Moms into a large parenting resource, but also launched Collin County Moms in 2016; providing those in the north Dallas suburbs their community resource platform. While building a community, uniting the moms, and growing a business around this passion was a dream come true, after almost 10 years, Krystal officially stepped down as owner, and is now focusing on raising her 4 boys with her husband, Tim, and rediscovering old hobbies.
