Seeing a theater show is always a magical experience, and going during the holidays makes it even more so, don’t you think? And what a special treat for a child to get to enjoy that kind of transportive adventure. There’s nothing like it! Yes, yes, ok, I love the theater, but I can be chill about it. If you’re reading this post we’re probably on the same page anyway, right?
The Eisemann Center in Richardson continues to bring in some great family-friendly productions for us. Did you guys read Kriti’s experience at The Wizard of Oz in October? I highly recommend you check it out – she’s got tips and info on the whole experience (ex: booster seats available for the littles!).
Today, though, we’re here to talk about The Magnificent Circus Mystery, on November 18, 2018 at 2:30pm. It sounds like a really unique production, and it’s one day only, so make sure you don’t miss out. Synopsis time:
A steamer trunk, a mysterious book, and a hat belonging to Harry Houdini begin a show filled with magic, juggling, unicycling, and physical comedy. The audience must solve clues, overcome obstacles, and figure out a 90-year-old-secret as they help to create the story from beginning to end. Based on a real character, the kids are empowered to write about people and events in their own lives, while discovering how authors develop story ideas.
The show is billed as 60 minutes long with no intermission. Best suited for grades 3-5 and their families, although of course you know what your child will enjoy. Here’s a link to the production company preview if you want to see some footage to get a better sense of the action.
Tickets start at $12; HOWEVER, we’ve got a little giveaway for ya!
