The Style House in Frisco

It was a much-needed, well-deserved break. I needed to “get away”, if only for a few hours. As a mom of two toddlers, I rarely get a minute to myself. Oh, you know the feeling? As much as we love our kids, from sun up to well past sun down, we are knee-deep in this thing called motherhood. And whether you are a seasoned mom of a house full of teenagers or a new mom that can’t remember the last time you’ve had more than three consecutive hours of sleep, we all need some time away from our angels.

For my three-hour “me” time, I decided to make an appointment for a facial at a new place I’d heard a little about called The Style House in Frisco. Driving there, I really didn’t know what to expect. Is it a salon? A spa? A boutique? A studio? Yes, yes, yes, and yes! The Style House is a dream-turned-reality for Amanda Embry, owner of the new chic spot on Main Street in Frisco. She has created a place where clients can come and be pampered with “all things style”, including salon services, a photography studio, and boutique shopping.

The location is perfect- an old house with lots of character in the heart of downtown Frisco. It even has a gorgeous wrap-around front porch! As I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff members, including Amanda herself. She is SO nice and just the cutest thing ever. Loved her immediately! I was offered fresh coffee and homemade bread {yum!}, but I was easily distracted by one thing- the SHOPPING! Goodness, y’all. Cutest. Stuff. Ever. Think Anthropologie cute. But with lots of local flavor here and there. A few product lines that caught my eye: Nichole Richie’s House of Harlow Jewelry, Farmhouse Fresh, and Nest candles. They even carry a full line of SPANX! (can I get an amen?!) The clothes were adorable, and they only order a few of each item, which makes it unique from other places I shop. After I quit drooling over all the goodies, my friend Haley took me on a tour of the rest of the house. Haley has been my go-to photographer since we had children. She’s photographed us and designed our Christmas cards the last few years, and we just adore her! Her work is incredible; you can check it out here. Haley is so excited to have a studio inside The Style House. She has the perfect room full of natural light and a big back yard where she does many of her photo shoots. Throughout the year, Haley will offer mini portrait sessions that can’t be missed. After seeing Haley’s new studio, she showed me around the rest of the house. The salon currently has six stylists and a nail technician downstairs. The pedicure chair was calling my name! Also, there is a playroom downstairs for your children if you need to bring them with you to an appointment. Awesome, right? Upstairs is where Amanda does facials and across from her is where you can get services from their in-house makeup artist. Just the experience of seeing The Style House was enough fun for me, but then I got to the best part: an hour-long, amazing facial from Amanda. Y’all. It was the best. I really needed that hour. I haven’t had a ton of facials, but I want to have one every week now! Amanda talked to me about my skin and really made my facial unique to what my skin needed. I left feeling refreshed and relaxed, and I absolutely cannot wait to go back!

I am so thankful for my few hours of alone time, and I’m thrilled that I chose to spend them at The Style House in Frisco.
