Dallas Moms Blog is excited to partner with Dallas metroplex The Little Gym locations for a weekly sponsored series on children’s health and fitness!
Over the next five weeks, Dallas Moms Blog contributors will be sharing helpful tips and advice on how to promote healthy, active lifestyles for children. Some of these posts will include healthy recipes while others will share unique and creative ways to exercise with your children, but we couldn’t think of a better partner for this series than the Dallas metroplex The Little Gym locations.
At The Little Gym, they put children’s health and fitness first! They’ve created a holistic “three-dimensional” learning approach based on extensive research. Their philosophy is based on three core beliefs:
Get Moving! Increased physical strength and muscle control, fine and gross motor skill development, coordination, balance
Brain Boost! Spatial and perceptual awareness, introduction to colors, language development and self-expression, knowledge of numbers and letters, initial problem solving
Citizen Kid! Developing independence and feeling comfortable away from parents, early socialization, sharing and taking turns, accepting new environments, following directions and cooperating
They put these core beliefs into action during each one of their classes at age-appropriate levels. During their Mommy & Me classes for ages 4 months – 3 years, they work on increasing physical muscle strength and muscle control (Get Moving!), spatial and perceptual awareness (Brain Boost!), and developing independence (Citizen Kid!). In the Sports Skills class, 3-6 year olds will learn fundamental skills for a range of sports (Get Moving!), understanding complex games and multi-step processes (Brain Boost!), and active group participation (Citizen Kid!). Each class is designed to build on each of the tenets while also encouraging healthy living habits.
We’re so excited to present this series to you over the next few months and hope you’ll be as excited as we are to learn from other mamas on new and creative ways to help our kiddos stay healthy!
