The 6 Best Farmers Markets in and Around Dallas

0

Thanks to an emphasis on home cooking and farm to table restaurants, local farmers markets have been sprouting up all over the Dallas area. Vendors are offered a chance to sell their homemade and homegrown items to shoppers while also hosting events for families as well.

Grab the kids and shopping bags and head out to one of these area farmers markets! Please note these farmers markets are listed alphabetically.

1. Dallas Farmers Market

Located in downtown Dallas, this farmers market has been around since 1941, offering Dallas folks fresh produce and goods, as well as plenty of shopping opportunities. There are three parts: The Market Shops, The Shed, and The Shops. The Market Shops are open seven days a week and features a phenomenal food haul. The Shed is the outdoor area featuring tons of produce, meat, and food being prepared by local vendors. The Shops house several retail and restaurant spots. The eclectic availability of the shops, produce, and events have people flocking here every weekend! I love the seasonal decorations and events it sponsors each year.

2. Farmers and Fleas Market in Farmersville

Open the first weekend of every month in the small town of Farmersville, this cute market is housed in a renovated Onion Shed. It features twp holiday markets in November and December. I’ve even seen Santa make a visit! Check out this great shopping spot Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., except January and October.

Located in a great spot next to Toyota Stadium in Frisco, the Frisco Fresh Market has great parking and plenty of space to bring the whole family! Open year-round on Saturdays and Sundays, shoppers can find a bounty of produce and homemade and home-baked goods with several lunch places right on site. Some of my family’s favorites included dog treats and pound cake. Bring the family, as it often has characters visiting, such as Chase from Paw Patrol!
