Christmas is work. We all know this. In December, we moms are juggling a million things- Christmas gift lists, holiday party schedules, plans to make every day just FULL OF HOLIDAY FUN EVEN IF IT KILL US. It’s exhausting. I too have considered throwing in the (seasonally appropriate Santa appliquéd) towel. But then…you get that moment. The moment when the magic hits and their whole face is just captivated with wonder. The moment of magic makes the planning and the organizing totally worth it.
We only get a few of those magic moments every year so we must be judicious on what we spend our Christmas capital.
I took my six year old to opening night of Elf The Musical, and I am so glad that we chose that as one of our Christmas activities this year. The show opens with Santa and only gets more magical from there. My little one was captivated by the lights and the dancing and we have listened to the songs on repeat since!
