Sorry Bluebonnets, but you finally have some competition, and it’s located just about 10 miles NW of Frisco in the quaint town of Pilot Point, Tx.
This gem of a place was started by a family from Holland who bring us rows and rows of beautiful tulips in a variety of colors. Entry is $3 (free for children under 1), parking is free, and you may even bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at one of their picnic tables. Upon entry, you may grab a basket and wander through the fields, picking your favorite flowers. And Moms, do I even need to say this out loud, THIS IS WHERE YOU TAKE 500 PICTURES OF YOUR CHILDREN!
After picking and pictures come to an end, it’s time to check out. You pay $2.50 a flower and they wrap them up for you in gel so they will stay fresh until you get home.
But time is running out- they are only open through April 20th.
I also suggest grabbing coffee and a sandwich at the Sweet Water Coffee House in the Pilot Point town square. It’s a super cool coffee shop pouring Oak Cliff Coffee. They also have books, blocks, and colors for your little one. Also, lots of spots in the town square for more cute pictures of your children.
So grab your sunglasses, camera, and a picnic and go have a blast!

Great pic of the kiddo in front of our “drooling horse” mural. 🙂
don’t think our Texas Bluebonnets have any competition. Bluebonnets are the Texas state flower for a reason. Texas has so many other wild flowers to boot !!!!!!!
Unfortunately entrance is $3, not free! Still beautiful though!
Thanks for letting us know about this change! We wrote this post a few years ago, but will be sure to update.
