Summer Camp at Techie Factory {July Options & Promo Code!}

I would love to open this post with various thoughts on how our kids experience tech differently than we do and how they have opportunities most of us never had, chances to dig deeper and explore the nuts and bolts of our virtual world. Or how almost every job requires working with technology in a significant way. Because that’s all very true.

But at the same time, I realize there are other pressing needs right now, such as… SAFE SUMMER CAMP IDEAS. If you’re still trying to work from home, you may be looking for some alternative options for the kids.

Anyone familiar with Techie Factory? They’re a great group, dedicated to having fun while teaching digital creation, gaming, coding, and all things tech to kids ages 5-14.

Before we go any further, let’s discuss safety. As with all endeavors for the foreseeable future, we need to evaluate our risks and make decisions based on as much information as possible. YouTube Creators Camp

“Learn how to write, produce, film, and edit your very own videos! You will get experience in all production roles and make short-length movies from pre-production to post. Lessons include sound effects, video editing and effects, and creating a private YouTube channel to show your parents and friends. Best for kids ages 6-12.”

Junior LEGO Engineering & Robotics

“Tiny techies will learn the basics of engineering. We will start with concrete objects in active, hands-on lessons using things like Lego’s, Kinetic Sand, and Snap Circuits. Working with a partner, in groups and individually, your Junior Techie will develop critical thinking skills and basic coding. Best for kids age 4-8.”

Digital Creators: Intro to eSports and Live Streaming

“This camp offers students a hands-on learning experience in professional competitive gaming and live broadcasting. Your kiddo will be introduced to various careers available in the gaming industry while working on their public speaking and comfort in doing so. They’ll explore the world of audio/video production to produce live and streaming content. As well as learning positive competitiveness and sportsmanship by engaging in competitive play with fellow campers.”

Mini Camp – Digital Creators: Fortnite

“Your kiddo will test their skills not only as a Fortnite player but also as a creator. They’ll flex their creative muscles through this week-long camp using their understanding of Fortnite to create challenges for other players. Learning about aspects of game design using Fortnite creative mode. During the week they’ll also create friendships with other campers that will hopefully continue beyond the camp. It will end with Fortnite tournaments to find out who will claim the title Queen/King Of The Camp. Design thinking, game design, camaraderie, and healthy competition will all be learned in this fun camp. July 13th for ages 8-14”

Digital Music Composition Camp
