Peek n’ Play Grapevine :: My New Favorite Playdate

Peek n Play Grapevine - Megan Harney for Dallas Moms BlogAs a Dallas mom, I am constantly looking for the best ways to have fun indoors. When our temperatures reach above 100 for weeks at a time and don’t cool down until November, that leaves a LOT of days in our house where this is a ton of energy and not enough things to do. Our writers have mentioned some great resources in the past including 7 Days of Indoor Play (and 7 MORE Days of Indoor Play), and today I have one more spot to add to your list!

Peek n’ Play is located in Grapevine right next to Grapevine Mills Mall. It’s in a quiet little shopping center, but don’t let the exterior fool you, it’s a gold mine!

When you walk in, the first thing your kids will be drawn to is the giant treehouse with a slide into the ball pit. Every time we are there, I see preschoolers running up and down that tree house for hours. It is a fantastic option for gross motor play (meaning big movements like running, jumping, and climbing).

There is an additional area where there is a little farm with a truck, some pretend produce and animals. This section is fabulous for pretend play.

Upstairs is an area geared towards older kiddos focusing on problem solving, building, and hand-eye coordination. They have a large selection of wooden blocks, Imagination Playground blocks, LEGOs, and K’nex. They also have books and board games for older kids to enjoy.

To me, what sets this location apart from similar places is their section for crawlers. There is a large rug with a floor mat, a teepee, and lots of toys for little ones. My crawler loved the magnetic tiles and soft building blocks.

Overall, it is such a great indoor play option because it allows kids to explore lots of different kinds of play. It engages a variety of ages from crawlers to young, elementary kids. It is a very intentional space designed for kids to be kids. Pack a lunch and stay awhile, you (and your kids) will love it!
