Last year, the Dallas Zoo hosted their first Kid to Do fundraising event “Monkey See Monkey Do.” All the proceeds of the night benefited the Dallas Zoological Society and the Dallas Zoo allowing them to provide funding to their many education centers, host family-friendly events and fun entertainment, and, of course, continue wildlife conservation.
Last year’s event was a huge success, so they’ve decided to do it again this year and you’re invited!
We know it’s slightly short notice, but if you’re able to attend this year’s Kid to Do at the Dallas Zoo on Saturday, June 1 from 5:30-8:30pm, you won’t regret it!
From the moment you arrive at the Party Safari, you and your family are treated like celebrities. You’re able to drive right up to the entrance and enjoy complementary Valet, which is always fabulous when you have little ones.
The Zoo will feel eerily quiet since it will be closed to regular guests. You’ll almost feel like you have the Zoo to yourself; which is once again fabulous because there’s no worries if your child takes off at full speed!
You might find yourself greeted at the entrance by a Penguin, but don’t worry. He (or She) hasn’t snuck out of the exhibit, but is just there to welcome you to the Party!
You’re invited to walk around the Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo, Cat Green, and other popular areas before heading to eat.
In the Children’s Zoo, the petting zoo and bird sanctuary will be open for you to explore. Grab a (FREE) bird seed stick, and watch your child’s face light up as birds land on your shoulder to eat.
And make sure to stop by the extremely impressive Giants of the Savanna. Zoo employees will be ready and waiting to great you and answer questions. Plus, unlike during normal zoo visits, the lettuce to feed the giraffes will be free.
The highlight of Kid To Do (at least for me!) will be the selection of kid-friendly fare and fine dining samples from some of your favorite restaurants like Uncle Julio’s, La Madeline, Urban Crust, Dallas Affairs Cake Company, Stephen Pyle’s, Start, and many more tasty places!
There will also be exciting entertainment such as bounce houses, a DJ, face painting, and arts and crafts as well as unique animal encounters, a private bird show in the Wildlife Amphitheater, and much, much more!
This year’s event is also a special occasion as it will be part of the Dallas Zoo’s year-long celebration of our 125th Anniversary and will be hosted by the Honorary Event Chair Kidd Kraddick’s own Kellie Rasberry & her daughter Emma Kelly.
Now, keep in mind that this event is a fundraiser and all your ticket purchases are tax deductible. So when you see the ticket price of $75, just think…a majority of that you can claim at the end of the year. And don’t forget, children 2 & under are FREE! So, splurge a little and enjoy this wonderful night whether you spend it with a date or with your children, it’s sure to be a night that you’ll always remember!
