When it comes to DIY activities ~ I am the worst. I wish Pinterest had a filter for the “Super Mom” and the “rest of us” — because I need the more realistic activities for me and my kids.
So, while searching for some fun things for Miles and his cousin to do at Grandma’s during the holidays — I kept seeing Marshmallow themed ideas and knew I’d finally found something even I could manage!!
The kids have been having a blast playing and snacking at the same time! Here are some of the quick, easy, and fun things we did with our marshmallows this weekend!
1. Marshmallow Snowman — There are several different ways you can make a marshmallow snowman. We didn’t even worry about making ours stick to the paper, but you could use icing or glue if you wanted. We kept it simple (and edible) by arranging them on the paper and snapping some quick pictures before project #2.
2. Marshmallow Art — Toothpicks and marshmallows provided endless fun. Throw in some toys and even the adults didn’t want to stop creating things!!
3. Marshmallows with Chocolate and Peppermints (beautiful pictures and tutorial here)– This one requires more adult supervision, but its super yummy and worth it!! And it’s as easy as it looks — mini peppermint sticks, large marshmallows and melted chocolate and… TaDa! I made these last year as teachers gift for Miles’ daycare and they were a huge hit. We enjoyed ours dunked in hot chocolate.
And last but not least —
4. Marshmallow Fight — After the kids get bored and the adults sit around eating the spoils, never turn your back on your mom and sisters! Never!!
very good idea!
