Aren’t you just loving these cooler temperatures? It’s hard to believe how much the weather has changed in just a couple of days. And what a welcome change it is! I have a strong desire to be outside with my kids and I can honestly say I have not said that in a few months!
One of the things I love to do when the weather is as nice as it is to catch a Ranger game in Arlington. You see, we are a huge sports family and we love following all of our DFW teams. However, our Texas Rangers hold a special place for all of our family members.
As a little girl, I grew up going to the Ranger games with my parents and now my husband and I love to take our kids to The Ballpark in Arlington as a special treat. We take my two step-kids at least once a year. My two year old, Langston, attended his first game at eight weeks old, in the Baby Bjorn. Setting the record in our family is Riverson, who went to his first game, which happened to be during the World Series, at three days old! I’m convinced he was the youngest fan in attendance. 🙂
Don’t worry, he was away from the masses. My aunt and uncle got a suite for our family and he was tucked inside under his Momma’s wing. Needless to say, we take every opportunity we can to catch a game.
The best thing about these Ranger games are not whether we win or lose, but the memories we create as a family. Because my step-kids are older (12 and 10), they vividly remember every game we attend. They will oftentimes bring up the games we attended together when we talk about fun adventures we have had. Whether it was Dollar Hot Dog Night, running the bases on the field after the game, or going early for batting practice, I’m so thankful for those memories they cherish so much over the last six seasons!
I know that going to a sporting event with your family is not always the most economical family activity but wouldn’t you love to have an evening with your family at The Ballpark in Arlington with this view?
