Monkey See Monkey Do at the Dallas Zoo

I wish I could say I was a frequent supporter of the Dallas Zoo, but I have to admit, I only recently rediscovered the Zoo. A few weeks ago, it was a beautiful Spring day and I decided to pack up my little one and head to the zoo for the first time since elementary school. I can’t tell you how glad I was that I did!

The Zoo was exactly like I’d remembered it, but better. There’s a brand new “down under” exhibit with kangaroos, koalas,and a large aviation area. There’s an amazing ,new 11-acre African habitat, and an entertaining children’s area with a unique nature exchange. It was a perfect way to spend the day with my 14 month old! So when I found out the Zoo was putting on the “Monkey See Monkey Do” event, I jumped at the opportunity to go!

For one night only, families will be able to explore the Giants of the Savanna and the Koala Walkabout exhibits, encounter animals including giraffe feedings, and view a private showing of SOAR: A Festival of Flight. There will be bounce houses, a DJ and dancing, face painting, PLUS delightful entertainment from Eddie Coker; an award-winning children’s singer and performer.

But I haven’t mentioned the best part! The event will feature approximately 20 of Dallas’s favorite dining hot spots such as Abacus, eatZi’s, El Fenix, Flying Fish, The Purple Cow, Uncle Julio’s, Smashburger, and more, all of which will be serving kid-friendly fare. I’m always a big fan when great eateries get together in one location!

Tickets have recently gone on sale, and the Zoo wants you to be there! You can purchase them online for $60 per person; with the exception of children ages 2 and under are free! If you feel like the price is a bit high, remember that the proceeds go to help an amazing organization and each ticket purchased has a tax-deductible value of $50, and entitles you to lots of kid friendly fun and food!
