Lorna Jane: Active Living opened their first Texas store in Stonebriar Centre and invited me to come in for a private shopping experience/ To learn a little more about this Australian-based activewear store, I did receive a free outfit in exchange for the review. I’m excited to you all about this fun, new line and provide the $100 giveaway opportunity below!
Like many of you, my New Year’s resolution this year was to get in shape and lose a little weight. By February, I’d put Couch 2 5K on my phone and quickly realized there were a few necessities I was missing to help make my goals easier. 1) A double jogger was going to be a requirement (for my two boys), and 2) my two favorite pairs of fitted workout pants were not going to cut it for every day exercise.
While I’ve never been one of those women who made yoga pants a part of my daily wardrobe, I discovered on days when I’d put my workout clothes on first, I was more inspired to go for a run or push in that Jillian Michaels DVD.
Similar to how throwing on a pair of high heels can make you feel a little more like a woman than just a mom, putting on a pair of workout clothes really did help me feel like I was one of those women who working out came naturally. {Fake it til you make it, right?}
It was about this time that Lorna Jane: Active Living contacted me to see if I’d like to come in and experience their new store, so I jumped on the opportunity!
Founded in 1989, Lorna Jane Clarkson began making her own fitness clothes on the floor of her Australian studio. While her only goal at the time was to own comfortable pieces that would express her own personal sense of style, she quickly found that others were desperate for what she was creating. Two decades later, Lorna Jane has become a world-leading activewear brand that inspires women to live their best life through Active Living.
At heart we are an active, authentic and innovative brand. We are not anonymous. Our founder puts her name to the brand and continues to influence its direction. Inspired by the energetic spirit of Active Living, Lorna Jane believes women can have and do it all.
As I began to try on a variety of Lorna Jane outfits, it became obvious that the mission of Lorna Jane was true.
Other brands have always made me feel (in appearance) like I was just another mom being lazy about getting dressed, but with Lorna Jane (and I know this will sound crazy) as I changed from one top to the next, I began to look at myself differently in the mirror. I was no longer that frumpy mom in yoga pants, I was a stylish women who was making exercise and healthy living a part of my life.
It took almost an hour of trying on several different combinations (and a budget preventing me from buying the whole store) I finally decided on a few core pieces to take home.
While I have to admit the sticker prices were a higher than what I’d normally spend on myself, I really believe that these were clothes that will be a part of my wardrobe for a long time. I purchased a simple black sports bra to go with my current and new tops and a fun, new running top with built in support. And instead of buying a new pair of pants every time I (hopefully) drop 5 pounds, the pants I chose should adjust comfortably with my weight.
Also, the next time I head in, I’m also going to drop off a few items into their Swap Shop. For each gently used active wear item you bring in, you’ll receive a $5 Lorna Jane credit (up to $15) to spend on a future purchase, and Lorna Jane will donate all items to the Salvation Army.
If you’re looking for comfortable active wear that not only looks good when you’re working out, but also makes you feel good about yourself, then make sure to stop into Lorna Jane at Stonebriar Centre and make sure to let Jenn or Leslie know I sent you!
Don’t worry Dallasites! Lorna Jane will also have a Grand Opening at Northpark Center in June! Keep your eyes open and your wallet handy!
