It’s only been a few months since my 3.5 year old son finally got over his fear of bounce houses. He finally started venturing inside after he saw how much fun his 2 year old sister had! So I have been looking forward to finally trying out a few of the indoor bounce houses in the Dallas area for the first time with both kids. Jump Zone Frisco (located in the Preston-Lebanon Crossing) seemed like the perfect opportunity to try out our newly acquired bouncing skills!
We went on a weekday in the morning right after they opened at 10:00 am. When we walked in the door, everything was very new and clean and the staff was friendly. After you pass the front counter, you’ll pass the snack bar area on your way to the games. (I’ll tell you a little more about this later, but look how clean and well stocked it is!)
Like many of the indoor play areas, there are a number of arcade and video games. But unlike the others, Jump Zone provides an ATM if you forgot your cash, and then a machine that will turn your cash into tokens. My kids had a lot of fun on the motorcycle games and the basketball skeeball we played!
After the initial lure of the games was over, it was all about the bounce houses. Jump Zone has many varieties of bounce house, from the simple to the complex. Some have slides and some don’t. If you are bringing toddlers under the age of 3, the Backyard Club bounce house is simple and straightforward to help them get acclimated. My 2 year old girl had a great time in this super colorful inflatable playground!
One of their favorites was the pirate ship because it had this super cool cannon inside and a nice, smaller slide for my little girl.
They warmed up a little more by jumping inside a giant football that was filled with little footballs. Huge hit!
And Added Bonus: Whenever a child ran off with one of the footballs, a patient staff member would bring the footballs back.
Finally, they were courageous enough to slide down the Princess bounce house slide, the steepest of the slides.
They went so fast, all the pictures I took were just a blur.
We got a little hungry around 11:30 and took a break to have some popcorn at the snack bar. You can also purchase pizza, candy, ice cream and soft drinks. No outside food is allowed, so check the menu online ahead of time for options your kids might enjoy. For us, the popcorn was great to keep us going for another 45 minutes!
We did take a little potty break – there is a changing table available in the bathroom for those of you who change diapers frequently like we do.
While we were there, we took a peek into the party rooms — there are 4! They were bright and airy, and the kids wanted to play in them! I liked that they were clean and cheery — one whole wall was windows. So many times, party rooms at indoor play areas are completely windowless, but I really liked how open it felt with the windows along the side. (If you’re planning a party, make about their Sunday $169 special.)
Overall, we had a ton of fun and will be back to play on the next rainy or hot day!
