Are you a mom who lives in the Dallas Metroplex and enjoys creative writing? Do you want to find a new way to connect with local moms? Are you eager to share your unique experiences and voice with fellow moms?
At Dallas Moms, we are passionate about our community and the moms who live here. Our goal is to make the Dallas Metroplex feel just a little bit smaller. We use both our website and social media outlets to keep our readers up to date on family-friendly activities around town, to provide advice on parenting and motherhood, and to encourage everyone to get out and explore all that our wonderful county has to offer.
That’s where our contributing team of writers and influencers comes in!
We are looking for local women with fresh and diverse voices who are passionate about motherhood and who want to share their experiences with women in Dallas and beyond. We’re committed in 2022 to creating a community where ALL moms feel welcome at the table, and we are expanding our contributor team to give space to voices we haven’t heard from yet.
Is it YOUR voice and experience that we’re missing? We want to hear from you!
Note :: You do NOT have to be a “blogger” or “influencer” to apply! This is a volunteer role with some fun perks. Keep reading…
We’re excited that you would consider sharing your thoughts and experiences with our readers! Before you think more about the opportunity, please read the following guidelines and feel free to contact us with any questions. We welcome ALL questions. We want to make sure this is the best fit for YOU. We have plenty of opportunities depending on what you love the most about being part of a community.
Who we are looking for…
The Dallas area is huge, with so many amazing parenting styles and cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds represented. For 10 years, Dallas Moms has been the voice for moms, and we would LOVE to continue to build a team that echoes the diversity of our community. We want to make sure we are representing ALL moms! With that in mind, we’re looking for…
- Moms in and around the entire Dallas area (from Forney to Grand Prairie, Richardson to Red Oak, and everywhere in between!) who have a passion for motherhood and our city and who enjoy writing.
- Women with a sense of humor and zest for life who don’t tend to take themselves too seriously.
- A diverse group of women who represent the demographics of our community.
- Moms of children of all ages, from infants to college-age and beyond.
In the past, Dallas Moms (formally Dallas Moms Blog) has been mostly a team of bloggers and writers, but our content is expanding! If you want to dip your toes into Instagram Reels, have a love for Tik Tok, want a platform to try out YouTube content, OR maybe you still LOVE to write microblogs or original articles, Dallas Moms is a community for you!
We are looking for moms to create content in the following areas:
- Full-length blog posts
- Microblog posts
- Video blog posts
- Social media posting
- Creating Reels for IG
- Creating memes
Do you live in McKinney, Frisco, Allen, Prosper, or surrounding Collin County areas? Collin County Moms is also hosting an open call for similar contributors!

Think LOCAL: We love to keep our content relevant to Dallas and surrounding areas…or within driving distance for day trips and outings. Posts can feature places to go and things to do, while more general topics {potty training, DIY, careers, etc.} can be given a local twist simply because they are written by a local mom—YOU!
Think MOMS: It may sound obvious, but Dallas Moms’ target audience is made up of MOMS, so it only makes sense that our content remains under the broad category of parenting, within which you have a ton of subtopics to choose from. If you have an idea that interests you and your friends, our readers would probably love to read about it too!
Most Importantly: Create what you love, and love what you create!!
As you consider what content to submit as a sample with your application, please think on these important guidelines:
- Your sample submissions must be original to you, meaning you are the author. Please keep copyright infringement laws in mind.
- The submission that accompanies your application should be a sample of your content of choice. If you are interested in creating more than one type of content, please submit one piece for each type.
- Content should be free from the following: profanity, sexual language, political endorsement of a party or candidate, political commentary, op-ed commentary on controversial social and/or political issues, and derogatory or inflammatory language.
Tell Me More…

What you GIVE…

How do you feel about a mom of two teens and one tween chiming in on this blog? We grew out of the stroller stage long ago…. but man it gets interesting at these ages.
It is now April 2019. Looking for any new bloggers? I have a 24 yo, a 15 yo, and a 9 yo—older, I know, but this mom thing is for life! I’m also a yoga devotee, a published writer (DMN among others) and a more “mature” mom—by this I don’t mean responsible and level-headed, I mean 48, and I’ve beeb through it! An offer the older mana angle, for sure.
Hi Erin! Be sure to continue to follow along as we do open calls each year. We’ll do another one towards the end of 2019. In the meantime, please reach out to us at [email protected] and we’d love to talk to you about being on our Guest Writer’s Network.
