If you haven’t heard of Houseparty yet, you need to download the app like yesterday. I know, I know. I didn’t want to download ANOTHER app either. But let me tell you! This one is different. I found life again after my first Houseparty.
Here’s how it works. Houseparty is a face-to-face social network. Once you download the app, create your profile and username.
Want to have a couples night in? Play games like Heads Up, Trivia, or Quick Draw in your Houseparty! Up to eight users can be in one room.
Say you are having a Houseparty with one friend and a mutual friend hops onto the Houseparty app. The third friend can easily hop right into your current conversation. No merging calls. Super simple.
This has been a great extension not only for me to have some adult interaction and laughs but also for my kids to chat with grandparents and cousins. Kids can be so awkward on the phone sometimes and just stare with nothing to say. The games on Houseparty are a great icebreaker and really a great way for my kids to speak words and not just appear to be staring at the phone.
Remember the days of IM and the sound of the door opening when one of your friends logged on. Kind of the same thing. You’ll receive a notification letting you know who just opened the app. There is something so thrilling about seeing that a friend is “in the house” and ready to chat.
