Enter indoor skating rinks! Indoor skating allows the kids, and myself, to learn some new skills, get some exercise, and have a spectacular time. Kids can start skating around the age of three or four, and some rinks welcome stroller skating!

Dallas and its surrounding cities have various options for both ice and roller skating. Most rinks offer lessons, open skate hours, and birthday party rentals.

Skating is such a fun activity, but it also helps develop coordination and balance, strengthens muscles and cardiovascular health, increases confidence, and helps reduce stress and anxiety.

Many skating rinks have extended hours in the summer months or on school breaks, so always check their websites for current hours.

Roller skating admission varies between $7 to $15, and ice skating varies between $10 to $20 per person, including skate rental. Try to visit on the rink’s “cheap skate” day, usually on a weekday.
