Halloween Movies for Each Enneagram Type

Women dressed up in Halloween costumes as a witch, Medusa, and the devil.

I had so much fun finding the perfect romantic comedy for each enneagram type. So, with Halloween around the corner, I thought it would be a scream to choose a spooky movie for each as well.

I am no enneagram expert. This is all just in good fun. If you donโ€™t agree with the movies I choose for each type, thatโ€™s okay. Your favorite Halloween movie might not match your type, which is okay too. It is more about the characters and theme of each movie. If you want to play along and donโ€™t know your enneagram type yet, go take the free test here. Then, come on back to find out which Halloween movie matches your type.

Type 1 — Ghostbusters

Plot :: A group of scientists open a ghost elimination service called Ghostbusters. When they stumble upon the gateway to an evil dimension, the Ghostbusters are called upon to save New York City from being destroyed.

Enneagram ones are driven by the need to improve the world around them. They make it their mission to be good and do good. They have a strong desire to fix things. Like type ones would do, the Ghostbusters use their knowledge of the paranormal to help rid New York City of supernatural destruction.

Type 2 — Casper

Plot :: Dr. Harvey is hired to eliminate ghosts from a spoiled rich womanโ€™s mansion. When he and his daughter move into the home, a friendly ghost named Casper befriends Harveyโ€™s daughter Kat in spite of his ghost uncles trying to scare her away.

Friendliness and the desire to please others are hallmarks of an enneagram two. Casper just wants to have a friend and feel loved, and he and Kat find a beautiful friendship in one another.

Type 3 — Halloweentown

Plot: Marnie must begin witch training before she turns 13, or she’ll lose her powers forever. When she and her siblings get a visit from their grandmother, they discover her magic and sneak back to โ€œHalloweentownโ€ with her to discover their supernatural roots.

Type threes are focused and goal-oriented. Once they set their sights on achieving a goal, they will jump through hoops to do so. Marnie and her siblings get the chance when they must help save Halloweentown from evil.

Type 4 — Edward Scissorhands

Plot :: An inventor creates an artificial young boy who is a nearly functioning person. The inventor dies before he can finish, leaving the boy (Edward) with only scissors for hands. A saleswoman stumbles upon Edward and brings him home to her family, where he falls for her daughter Kim. Kimโ€™s boyfriend greatly dislikes him, causing trouble for Edward and Kim.

Edward is emotional and creative just as any four would be. Thereโ€™s really nothing typical about a type four, and Edward and the movie itself are both one of a kind.

Type 5 — The Addams Family (1991)

Plot :: Patriarch of the Addams Family, Gomez, is overjoyed when his long-lost brother Fester returns. But the kooky family soon questions whether Fester is who he claims to be or an imposter trying to gain access to the family fortune.

A type five is logical, has a thirst for knowledge, and is sometimes seen as a โ€œknow it all.โ€ Wednesday Addams can see through the Fester imposter from the moment he arrives, as any type five would.

Plot :: Two witch sisters, Sally and Gillian Owens, are under a family curse: Any man to fall in love with them is ill-fated. Ultimately, they accidentally kill Gillianโ€™s violent beau and find themselves in trouble with the law, from which their magic canโ€™t fully protect them.

The enneagram six is the most loyal personality type. For a six, her people and their safety are priority. Sally Owens is a typical six. Her loyalty to her sister proves to be rock solid, and she will stop at nothing to protect her loved ones (and even her own heart).

Type 7 — Beetlejuice

Plot :: Newlydeads Barbara and Adam try to haunt the family who have moved into their home. They are unsuccessful, and call upon a demon named Beetlejuice to scare them away. They soon regret involving Beetlejuice due to his malicious and erratic behavior.

An enneagram seven is optimistic and enjoys trying new things. Like Beetlejuice, a type seven has a big personality and fear of missing out.

Type 8 — Hocus Pocus

Plot :: A teenage boy accidentally resurrects the Sanderson sisters, three witches who were executed 300 years ago. They have but one night to perform a spell to ensure they stay alive in Salem, but it involves stealing the lives of all the children in town. The boy, his love interest, and his kid sister are in a race against time.

Enneagram eights are assertive and want to be in control. Much like Winifred Sanderson, who wants to control the children of Salem to get what she wants.

Type 9 — Itโ€™s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

Plot :: Charlie Brown is excited to finally get invited to his first-ever Halloween party, which Lucy reveals he was invited to by mistake. Linus and Sally wait in the pumpkin patch for a visit from the โ€œGreat Pumpkin,โ€ and miss trick-or-treating with the gang.

This is a perfect fit for any nostalgic nine. An enneagram nine also values acceptance and the need to feel at peace, which, in this Charlie Brown cult classic, both Linus and Charlie Brown are seeking.
