Dallas Moms Blog partnered with Omni Dallas Hotel to bring you this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
Please excuse the selfie, but this is the face of one happy momma! This is the face of a mom who just had the best girls weekend away without having to go very far. This is what well rest, pampered, and spoiled looks like! And I like this look on me.
When Omni Dallas Hotel invited a Dallas Moms Blog contributor to their Cinco de Mayo Party on the Lawn, I jumped at the chance. There isn’t a mom among us who doesn’t deserve a break, so when I won the opportunity to go – trust me, I was more than grateful!
I asked my best girlfriend, Beverly, to join me and we kissed our kiddos goodbye, put on the best mom jeans we could still fit into, and took to the city like… well, like before we had kids!
After a nice 6 minute drive for me and a 20-minute drive for Bev, we were there and ready to party! The second we got to our room on the 23rd floor, I felt like I’d won the lottery. We had the most amazing views of Dallas! And an amazing view of the festivities on the lawn below. Mariachis, tacos and margaritas awaited us – so we didn’t hesitate.
The party was exactly what we needed. A nice cool breeze, drinks, music, fun and downtown Dallas at our fingertips. Omni Dallas knows how to throw a party!
After a late, fun night out – waking up to fresh (complimentary) coffee and orange juice at our door was the perfect way to start our kid free day (love you, missed you, promise)! But nothing screams vacation like a Texas-shaped waffle at the in-hotel restaurant Texas Spice. Seriously, that Bloody Mary was everything!
Now, not to brag, but after our brunch, we spent the day lounging by the 4th floor pool– soaking up the sun, reading our books and sipping on Mai Tais. All while looking out over my favorite city skyline.
One tiny nap (humble brag) later and we were ready for night 2! 10 steps out the hotel doors and we found ourselves at Black Ship Little Katana for some yummy sushi. It’s perfect having so many options within walking distance.
Day 2 was even better, and if you’re not green with envy by now – you’re about to be, because SPA DAY! Mokara Spa in the Omni Dallas was seriously lovely, cozy, and awesome all in one. One amazing facial for me (I will never go anywhere else) and one perfect massage for Bev, and we were the most relaxed and happy we had been in a very long time!
When I posted that selfie after my amazing weekend away, friends said I was glowing… and I felt like I was glowing! Because, as dramatic as it sounds – I’m almost certain this tiny break made me a better wife and mother. And that just makes you glow!
So, if you are like every one of us moms out there, tired and in need of a break – I have a great idea for you. The Omni is a quick 15-30 minute drive for most of you and has everything you need to recharge and be the best mom and wife you can be!
