Never underestimate the power of a staycation, especially when you’re a mama craving time with some of her best gal pals. And while vacationing out of town can sound like a dream, the reality is those trips are expensive and, frankly, inconvenient for moms who can’t take too much time away from busy work schedules, kids, household responsibilities, and more. Staycations allow moms to recharge and relax close to home — but not too close.
Recently, Dallas Moms spent a weekend in Southlake and want to share what we found with you! So, round up your girlfriends, clear a night or two in your calendar, and give your mama heart, mind, and soul a much-deserved break.
1. Stay at the Hotel
The Hilton Dallas Southlake Town Square could not be in a more ideal locale. It’s not far from most places in the DFW area but WITHOUT the chaotic commute. We traveled from various places in the metroplex and each person raved about the location.
And it only got better as we checked in!
Friendly staff at the hotel made us feel pampered and welcomed. The decor is darling. Comfortable and classy rooms tempted us to plop in bed and drift to sleep. If it wasn’t for the proximity to Southlake Town Square, we could have easily stayed in bed all day surrounded by the hotel’s accommodating amenities, including a pleasant walking trail and pond, heated outdoor pool, fitness center, park, and full-service spa (more on that in a minute).
The hotel is within six miles of Legoland, SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium, and DFW International Airport, and Dallas, Fort Worth Stockyards, and Arlington can be reached in 30 minutes.
2. The Spa
It’s not a girls’ weekend without a trip to the spa. Luckily, the hotel partners with a full-service spa called Corinthian Wellness & Med Spa. From make-up application to massages and facials in addition to the medical services like vitamin infusions, laser treatments, and more. Guests of Hilton Southlake enjoy 15% off of treatments at both Corinthian Wellness & Med Spa and Destiny Drip Bar.
3. The Restaurant
A major highlight of getting out of the house sans kids is dining on foods your otherwise picky-eating child may refuse. You can order what YOU want!
Though there are many delicious restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, our group dined at The Henley Kitchen and Bar, which is located within the hotel. From vegetarian options to steak and seafood, there were elevated plates and dishes that left us satisfied and happy.
4. Shopping
Have we mentioned all of this is within walking distance — and not like half a mile walking distance, but RIGHT THERE.
There’s nothing like retail therapy to and indulgence to bring a smile to our face. Stores like Anthropologie, Banana Republic, Coach, and LuLuLemon — to name a mere few — are all at Southlake Town Square.
Even if you decide to just window shop, walking with friends and fanciful dreaming is a fun way to escape. The area and architecture is beautiful.
5. Entertainment
The hotel if your hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment! And did we mention that it is either easily walkable or right in the hotel itself? Have we? Because it was a huge selling point for us!
The outdoor park, pond, and walking trail is great for the nature lovers — and just to unwind. The pool is always a win because it’s heated.
In the town square, you will also find the EVO entertainment complex if you want a break from shopping or that’s not your thing. It features a movie theater, gaming, bowling, rock climbing, and a heck of a lot more.
Also, when planning your trip, be sure to check out the events section on the website. There is always something on the docket!
What are you waiting for? Book. That. Trip. With. The. Girls. And tell ’em Dallas Moms sent ya.
I LOVED staying at the Hilton Southlake Town Square for our Beal Media conference back in September. The pool, food, and beautiful room made me want to stay even longer. It was clean and pristine, located in the heart of the elegant Southlake Town Square. Plenty of options for upscale dining and shopping, too!
