You may not have noticed, but the color “orange” has been taking over the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex! For the last year, Orangetheory Fitness locations have begun popping up and moms can’t get enough!
The trainers are outstanding and keep me motivated. Best workout that I have found. As a new mom trying to lose the baby weight, this is the only workout that has proven results.
What is Orangetheory Fitness?
Orangetheory Fitness offers a 60-minute workout for ages 16 and older called the Orange60. Their in-studio programs are designed to push you into the “Orange Zone.” Similar to circuit training, OTF uses three components in their sessions–
- treadmill interval training blocks
- Indoor Rowing
- Weight ResistanceTraining Blocks
Each Orangetheory Fitness program is run by Personal Trainers who undergoes rigorous instruction to help you get the most out of the program. Although each session is a group setting, personal trainers will be providing you with a unique personal experience to help you meet your goals!
What makes Orangetheory Fitness different?
By providing you with a heart-rate monitor and POD at the beginning of each class, personal trainers will monitor your 5-zone interval training sessions throughout the entire 60 minute workout. During the three intervals — each 12 to 20 minutes of training, you’ll perform at 84% or higher of your maximum heart rate. The “afterburn” effect puts you into the final two zones to help you burn an average of 500-1,000 calories at each workout. Not bad for 60 minutes!
Orangetheory Fitness is also always trying to find new ways to challenge their members outside of their workout sessions which is why they created a variety of programs like Dri-Tri, Tuesday Tornado classes, “Hell Week”, and their notable Ultimate Weight Loss Challenge! Each time a new Orangetheory Fitness location opens, the new OTF location hosts an Ultimate Weight Loss Challenge. These 6-week friendly competitions are open to all members who attend classes regularly (3 times per week as recommended). The goal is to show the greatest improvement over the course of the contest, measured by percentage of weight loss.
If you’re currently an OTF’er you’ll be glad to know that another Ultimate Weight Loss Challenge will be coming very soon as Orangetheory Fitness is opening up their next new location in Preston Hollow this Spring!

Hi,
I’d love to take a class. It sounds like a great workout with maximum caloric burn. Will you be servicing the Southlake or Keller area anytime soon? I’d love to join a class.
