It’s my favorite time of the year here in Texas! The Fall in the south is pretty much equivalent to the summers in the North in terms of the weather and enjoying the sun. Since starting our family a few years ago we have decided to start Fall Family Traditions and I wanted to share with you a few that I really love. At the end of the day its about the memories created and the time shared with family, so here it is!
1.) State Fair of Texas: This one was one that I did back home where our fairs were tiny compared to the Texas version. Since I was little we went every year and since Texas does things really big, I have a blast taking our family and creating State Fair memories.
2.) Visiting the Pumpkin Patch: DFW Metroplex has tons of Pumpkin Patches around the area that make for great family photos and just the enjoyment of the Fall Season. You can find a list of Pumpkin Patches on Dallas Mom this Friday!
3.) Going to the Apple Orchard: Technically we haven’t done this one just yet, but we will be adding this one to our list of Fall traditions this year. Also, I have her blueberry orchards are just a great! One of the things I am excited about the most is picking the apples with my daughter then going home and baking a Apple pie with her. We just happen to be a Apple-pie loving family. Yum!
4.) Fall Harvest Festival: Our family LOVES to dress up and go to the local Fall Harvest Festivals. A lot of churches do this in exchange to celebrating Halloween. We have found this to be a TON of fun for the kids and a blast all around.
5.) Football Celebration Parties: One thing that the Fall brings is Football season. We are avid Dallas Cowboys’ fans and really enjoy rooting on our favorite team! We also like watching the college games as well. Even though I will always be a Spartan (Go Michigan State!) I enjoy watching the Red River Rivalry.
6.) Back to School Traditions: Another thing that the Fall brings is the kids returning to school. We enjoying praying with our kids, taking photos on their first day and getting their room set-up for success. Yes, I have toddler but you can never start too soon in my opinion. They actually enjoy the structure even though they are in early childhood.
What are some of your Fall Traditions? Just writing this post makes me super excited about the upcoming season because I live my life in celebration of life, family, love and new seasons, things we often and quick easily can take for granted.
