Forget the PSL :: 5 Festive Fall {Apple} Recipes

0

Dallas Moms Fall Apple RecipesI have a confession to make: I am not a fan of the PSL. Pumpkin Spice has never been my go-to fall flavor! I’ve never loved pumpkin pie and would rather go on drinking my plain black coffee in the cool autumn mornings. There is a flavor I do love to celebrate fall with and that is all things apple!

With the PSL craze still running rampant among latte lovers everywhere, I feel as though the apple has been overshadowed and underappreciated in recent years for the flavor it brings to crisp autumn days. Is there anything better than the crunch of a  Honeycrisp apple paired with salty slices of sharp cheddar cheese? Or dunking a tart Granny Smith into some spiced caramel dip? What about homemade apple sauce simmering in a crockpot layered with flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves wafting through your house for all to enjoy?

If you too are a fan of all things apple, here are five fun festive fall recipes that make this fresh fruit the star of the show!

Festive Apple Recipes for Fall

Easy Apple Hand Pies

These hand pies make for a perfect Saturday baking project in the kitchen with littles! From mixing the filling to pinching crust corners with a fork this recipe will make for a fun hands-on experience for kiddos and a delicious dessert for all to enjoy.

Applesauce Spice Crumb Muffins

We all have a spare applesauce pouch hanging around in a pantry or diaper bag, right? Put it to good use with this spiced muffin recipe! I would love to start a crisp fall morning on my back porch with a hot cup of coffee and this delicious pastry slathered in Spiced Apple Butter.

Caramel Apple Slices

I am all for making classic recipes more fun and attainable. Candy apples and caramel apples can be an intimidating, sticky mess. These slices take the favorite elements and flavors of a caramel apple but cut down on the mess! This is also a great snack to share and personalize for specific dietary restrictions and preferences.

Country Apple Fritter Bread

There is nothing better than a fresh apple fritter from a local donut shop. The crunch of the caramelized sugar and tang of the apple cannot be beaten. This recipe brings all of those delicious notes home. This would make a delicious breakfast on a slow Sunday morning!

Peanut Butter Apple Dip

I grew up eating a variation of this dip. I remember my mom putting cinnamon on top for a little extra fall goodness. This would be a great dip to pack in school lunch (if your school is not peanut-free!) or an after-school snack!
