The last days of August are quickly coming to a close.
When I think of September, I start to think about pumpkin spice lattes, trips to the pumpkin patch, playing in the leaves and cooler weather. But we all know that’s not really what September looks like in Texas. We still have at least another full month of Texas heat upon us. With lots of pools closing after Labor Day, I bet those of you with preschoolers are looking for an indoor place to play that you haven’t already hit up all summer long.
I’ve got just the place for you!!
Sense-Able gym is a brand new indoor play gym in Garland. Earlier this year we posted about some great indoor play places, but this one didn’t make the list because it’s brand spankin’ new. It just opened in May.
I took my 2-year-old son this summer and he absolutely loved it!
Here’s why we love Sense-Able Gym,and can’t wait to go play again…and again…and again….
It’s designed for children with special needs, but open to all children.
Sense-Able Gym is a sensory gym, that has been designed to meet the varied needs of the special needs child, be it tutoring, therapy services, IEP (individualized education program) support, or simply a safe place to play.
Sensory input is absolutely important when it comes to our children’s growth and development whether they have special needs or not. Every child needs a healthy sensory diet, and their goal at Sense-Able gym is to provide that through play of all kinds……..pretend play centers, the art room with many different tactile experiences, the gym floor, and the sensory room which is a wonderful visual stimulating experience.
It’s so much more than just a play gym.
They offer a preschool program (2 or 4 days a week), tutoring, therapy, home school support, and a variety of classes. They also have a Art Alley and Tech-Nasium open during the open gym times. The Art Alley has all different kinds of art crafts for the kids to do while the Tech-Nasium is full of iPads with lots of educational games to play.
They have lots of gym membership options and play options.
No matter how often you want to play, they’ve got an option for you. A Play Pass for the day is $12 ($6 for additional siblings). A Monthly Play Pass is $35 for 1 child and $65 for 2 children and an Annual Family Play Pass (for 2 children) is $700.
If you schedule a group to come (8 or more children) or would like to have a birthday party (no minimum number of children), it’s only $7.50 per child!! I know I will definitely be scheduling a play date with my playgroup this fall.
While the kids play, the parent’s can hang out in the Parent’s Pit Stop.
It’s the perfect place to sit and read a book, chat with other Moms and just watch your kids play. It has a big window where you can see everything your child is doing and quick access to get back into the play area to rescue your child if needed!
But……I have to say my absolute favorite thing about Sense-Able gym is the long nap that happened after we got home! They play hard while they are at Sense-Able gym so I can almost guarantee a nice long nap from your child as well.
Sense-Able Gym is open Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 9am-6pm and Tuesday & Thursday from 10am-6pm.
Check out their website to see their open gym schedule. And be sure to like them on Facebook so you can be see what’s going on in the gym each day!
How will you and your children be spending this last month of Texas heat?
