Calling all moms of Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Jasmine, Aurora, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Snow White fans… (Princess expert mommas, did I miss any?)
There is an event in the Dallas area happening next month that you need to know about. It’s a very special evening designed just for your little princess and that prince who stole your heart with his charm…her daddy. It’s the Princess & Papa Wonderland Ball.
If you have a daughter between the ages of 2 and 12 this is a truly wonderful opportunity for her to bond with the most important man in her life right now. The Wonderland Ball is an evening filled with dinner, dessert, dancing, contests, prizes, the chance to be silly with a prop-filled photo booth, tiaras, and great entertainment–including special appearances by little girl favorites like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
Last year, my husband and then-three year old daughter attended. I’ll be honest, as she left I wondered if she was too young to appreciate and really enjoy the evening. But, like a lot of little girls, she loves to dress up. She liked the idea of a special date with daddy, too. So, they went. And, I was so wrong!
Very wrong, in fact. Can I tell you that I couldn’t wipe the smile off of her face for a solid week? I figured she’d be exhausted when she got home, but instead she was a chatterbox recounting all the fun she had at the ball. It was the time of her life and, she cannot wait to go again this year.
The event is held at a beautiful location — the waterfront Hilton Bella Harbor Hotel in Rockwall. This year it will be on Saturday evening, February 2nd from 5pm until 9pm. (Although, if your little girl turns into a pumpkin when she stays up that late, her Daddy can take her home early.)
My biggest lament about last year’s event was that there wasn’t a way I could go! But, this year they have designated the first half an hour as “Mommy Minutes.” It’s a special time for curious moms like me who wished they could spy on their little ball-goers. Moms can check out the ballroom, take pictures, and meet some princesses from 5-5:30pm!
The event is put on by the Princess “A” Girls. Behind the Princess “A” girls moniker, is a husband and wife team that have decades of experience in event planning and entertainment. Their heart and passion is to connect fathers to their children (especially their daughters) and so they created this special ball several years ago as an effort to do just that. I know from my work with a group called the National Fatherhood Initiative that girls who grow up with their daddies involved in their lives are less likely to struggle in school, commit suicide, be depressed, get pregnant as a teenager, and, get this, even be overweight! (I wrote about how important dads are to the lives of their children here.)
Moms, don’t miss this fabulous opportunity to get your little princess and her daddy together to make some memories. Space is limited so get your tickets soon by clicking here, before they sell out. This is one event she will not soon forget!
