{Drama-Free} Family Dinners :: 4 Food Delivery Apps You Need

1

As a mom/wife/friend/homeschool teacher – there are a lot of things I do well.  Cooking and meal planning is, sadly, not one of them.  Somehow I missed that gene and/or lesson at school.  Add to that a house renovation and not having a kitchen for the past 4 months and I’ve had to get creative with our “what’s for dinner” routine.

Thank goodness for modern technology!  With the swipe of my phone, dinner is just a few clicks and 20 to 35 minutes away!

If you are anything like me (hopefully some of you are) then you might be in need of some dinner help.  So feel free to download one or all of these apps and make dinner just a swipe away!

Door Dash – While Door Dash does charge a fee for their delivery, they also offer several “try me free” options for delivery orders over $15!  They also have a great selection of restaurants to choose from.  The app is easy to use and order from.  And they will text updates of your delivery.

Favor – Favor offers different specials from different places, including $1 and $3 delivery options.  It has tons of options and the app is very easy to use and navigate!  Drivers are very good at texting updates for delivery.  Favor is currently contributing $1 to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts every time you order from certain restaurants!

Amazon Prime Now – I’m in love with Prime Now for several reasons, but their free delivery on orders over $35 if you are prime is one of my favs!  Amazon already has all my payment information and that always makes it easy when choosing which apps to order from.  You don’t even need the Prime Now app, you can order from the Amazon home page as well!

Uber Eats – Uber makes my life easier, and ordering food from them is no exception.  Uber Eats is my favorite interface for ordering and they even have suggestions for the fastest delivery options – which is imperative when kids are involved.

So next time you just can’t figure out what to do for dinner – let modern technology help you out!  Pour a glass of wine, play a game with the kids and let your phone bring dinner right to your door.

Any other apps I should download?

  1. Great post, Amanda! I use UberEats quite frequently and it’s very convenient. I’ve also used Postmates, which is in the same ballpark as the four services you listed.

If it’s okay with you, I’d like to make another recommendation to your readers who enjoy the convenience of home delivery services. My new venture, Cozy Oil Change, takes the hassle out of waiting at auto shops by delivering oil changes to our clientele at their homes and workplaces.
