DMB Date Night at the Studio Movie Grill Spring Valley

Date Night at Studio Movie Grill! We had a wonderful time!

Dallas Moms Blog’s Date Night at Studio Movie Grill was a HUGE Success!

SMG rolled out the red carpet at their amazing new theater in Richardson. For those of who who have lived in the area for a long time, you’ll remember that this was the old Loews Keystone theater. Walking in, memories will come rushing back from the old theater with a similar layout; however, Studio Movie Grill did an amazing job at remodeling the entire building!

There’s a VERY large lobby upon entering where you can purchase your tickets with an enormous waiting area to sit and enjoy a drink or appetizer before going into your movie. There’s been a full bar built in the center of the lobby perfect for catching the game while waiting on your party.  Dallas Moms Blog ticket holders enjoyed appetizers and mingling at the private (DMB only) cocktail hour inside a roped off area of the new lobby.

We were then escorted to our private theater to enjoy our private viewing of Skyfall. (Did we mentioned it was private for Dallas Moms Blog’s attendees only? 😉 )All of the new theaters resemble your usual stadium-seating theater; however, Studio Movie Grill has added a twist! Long gone are the swiveling office chairs, tables, and counter top-seats. Instead, they’ve brought in larger, comfortable cushioned chairs with a smaller table tray (and little red button for service!) to make it more convenient and enjoyable for each theater goer.

Although we sold a limited number of tickets, the theater its self was really full. I know because I had to sit on the front row! Normally, I’d complain, but there really was not a bad seat in the house, so no complaints on being a “Front Row Joe!”

At the last minute, the awesome people at Studio Movie Grill decided to open up their menu to us for appetizers, dinners, and dessert! My husband and I went with crab cakes, pulled pork street tacos, BBQ cheddar burger, and warm chocolate chip cookies. All delicious! Other options on their menu included loaded cheese fries, artisan pizzas, buffalo chicken fingers, custom-made hamburgers, homemade rocky road cookies with Ben & Jerry’s Nugat ice cream, and frozen hot chocolate. Not to mention they’ve added a few movie favorites like popcorn and a variety of boxed candy!

Do you recall that 2 tickets were only $35?

An amazing value for sure!

Instead of a server being assigned a section, all of the servers were working together to bring out drinks, food, and refills. Whenever we needed something, all we had to do was push that little red button and someone was quickly at our side. At several times throughout the movie, we didn’t even have to ask for a refill, someone came up and asked us!

Our service was great, and so was the movie. Skyfall did not disappoint on action and suspense. And since everyone left with free movie tickets, courtesy of SMG, my husband and I can’t wait to head out to the Studio Movie Grill Spring Valley again for our next date night!

All in all, it truly was a special night! A special thank you to Studio Movie Grill for hosting us, Minerva Consulting for helping coordinate, Adventure Kids for babysitting, and to YOU, our readers, for helping us make our first DMB Date Night a great success!

Hope to see you at the next one!
