The Arboretum opened its doors in 1984, combining the 44-acre DeGolyer Estate and the 22-acre Alex Camp House to create a horticultural masterpiece in North Texas. Today, 19 named gardens and numerous areas within combine to create one of the premier Dallas landmarks. The vibrant color displays in these gardens engage visitors of all ages throughout the seasons.

The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden was designed to connect children with nature. Education is a central focus of our mission, which is why we are delighted to be able to teach life and Earth science to both school children and their teachers as well as families. We offer fencing programs for recreational to competitive fencers as well as fencing camps for the beginner and advanced student.  Our programs are specially designed by world-class coaches. Students are challenged mentally and physically, honing agility, quickness, and subtlety of movement. Our students learn to:

• Think strategically and solve problems quickly
• Evaluate the cause and effect of their actions
• Overcome attitudes and fears
• Win and lose graciously

Fencing was one of the first sports to be recognized in modern Olympics. Fencing has been described as “chess with muscles,” suggesting that complicated strategy lies behind the thrusts and parries that punctuate a duel. Fencers of today employ a combination of archaic and modern customs; combatants still salute before a match and wear the traditional white uniforms and masks, but scoring is now determined by electronic padding worn by the combatants that registers when a hit takes place with flashing, color-coded lights.

ATTACK! Basketball Academy is a year-round program for all boys & girls in Kindergarten through High School who like to play basketball. All levels of ability are welcome and it is never too late to learn!

Our strategy is to develop a total basketball program through team practice, fundamental skills training and league play all while providing more of a personalized experience for each player.

We are constantly looking for kids who have the drive and passion to improve their basketball skills to help take them to the next level. ATTACK! Basketball Academy gives kids a positive experience and a head start in basketball.

Spark your child’s love of science this summer at our fun and engaging science day camps!  Our 30 different camp themes for children entering PreK4 – 7th grade include topics such as video game design, biology, chemistry, robotics, geology, coding, and much more!  Weeklong camps run June 14- August 6, 2021; Monday-Friday 9-4pm with extended care available.  We have locations in Highland Park, Preston Hollow, Far North Dallas, and Plano (2).  Don’t wait to register, camps fill up very quickly!

Carrollton Youth Football League(CYFL) is a non-profit organization delivering athletic programs for the children of our community and surrounding areas that develop teamwork, physical conditioning, goal setting, sportsmanship, self-esteem, competitive spirit, and other positive attributes to enable them to achieve greater gains in school, and in life. It is our hope that the volunteers involved with our organization set positive examples of how to give back to the community — and in doing so, set the stage for the children we serve to one day carry on the tradition of service through involvement with youth sports.

CYFL provides youth football, cheerleading & drill programs for ages 5-12. CYFL carries a proud 30-year history heading into our 2016 season. The program accommodated 400+ boys and 100+ girls spread across 21 teams in the 2015 season.

To provide athletic opportunities for young people through football and cheerleading, teach sportsmanship and citizenship in a positive and safe environment.

 The Farmers Branch Youth Football and Cheer Association (FBYFCA) is an independent non-profit organization of parents and concerned citizens that has come together to provide a Football and Cheer experience for the youth of our community. All money goes to support team supplies and activities. This is a combined organization supporting BOTH Football and Cheer activities.

FBYFCA FootballTeams are organized with 5-6 year old’s playing flag football with 10 minute running clock quarters, and the coach on the field. 7-8 year old’s (Bantam) play tackle football, with 10 minute quarters and the coach on the field. 9-10 year old’s (Juniors), and 11-12 year old’s (Seniors) that are not already playing in Jr. High Football) play tackle football, with 10 minute quarters.

FBFYCA Cheerleaders are organized in teams with ages similar to the team they are to cheer for. As your Cheer Coach’s and Assistants we will strive to instill tradition, honor, commitment and pride in our teams and in each other. We will build a solid foundation based on trust and loyalty. We will work to be organized, consistent and supportive to make this an exemplary cheer program and a positive experience.

We schedule our regular season games with other community organizations located in the area and play in the Carrollton Youth Football League (CYFL).  

Sideline Sports Cheerleading and Power Tumbling has classes private lessons and All Star Teams for ages 5 and up!

Located in the “Historic Silos” of Carrolloton and desiginated a historical landmark on May 21st, 2011. Used by climbers of all ages and abilities from scouts to world class climbers, no one in Dallas wanted to see the “Silos” closed.

“The North Texas OPC” as it is called includes indoor rock climbing, outfitting, rock climbing & wilderness trips, backpacking gear rentals, kayak rentals, instructional courses in both rock climbing & backpacking as well as a map room, book room and snack bar.

The North Texas Outdoor Pursuit Center will be housed in the newly historically renovated grain silos, the historical renovation includes new historically correct lighting through out circa. 1940, Architectural 1940’s barn/farmhouse features include corrugated metal, knotty pine flooring, front counter features, painting schemes, glass floor showcasing the original grain processing equipment as it sits today, lounge area showcasing the research document and photos used to get historical designation, remodeled restrooms circa. 1940 and much more.

We are a makers workshop space and music lesson studio offering classes in various creative arts, private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, and violin, as well as group classes for beginners of all ages. Tim Crawford, owner and designer, envisioned a place where everybody in the family can have fun. “I grew up in Denver, born and raised, and I never knew of a place where kids could bounce off the walls without driving their parents crazy. Matt Sturgis was a competitive cheerleader, college cheerleader, a member of American Cheerleaders Association Staff where he traveled teaching summer camps and was awarded Rookie of the Year in 1999. He has taught tumbling, cheerleading, and preschool gymnastics for fourteen years. Matt is USASF, USAG, First Aid, and CPR Certified.

Le’Son Ivory is a former All-star, college, and professional cheerleader and in those years of cheer, was selected to perform in the opening ceremonies of the 1996 Olympics, as well as winning All-American cheerleader for UCA and COA 3 consecutive years.  Coach Lee is a former head instructor for Americheer and NCA.  He is a national title winning coach and choreographer.  Lee is USASF, First Aid, and CPR Certified.
