Dear Clark Blow Dry Lounge

When I was pregnant and taking prenatal vitamins, my hair grew and grew and grew. I imagined that I would become one of those glamorous moms with beautiful hair and tons of style. Then reality hit- and I pulled my hair back in a bun almost EVERY SINGLE DAY.

So, I turned to Pinterest and started pinning adorable short haircuts. I mean, if it were short then I would surely be able to style it easily and more frequently. I chopped it all off, bought all sorts of tools and sprays, but I still needed help.

That’s when I discovered Dear Clark, a trendy salon in the heart of Uptown in Dallas. They are a full service salon with a blow dry lounge and braid bar. Last week I spoiled myself by making an appointment for a blow out. $35 buys you a shampoo with their own locally made products, a 5 minute scalp and neck massage, and a fabulous style that lasts for days.

Within an hour, my stylist nailed the look I was going for (i.e. just like the picture I pinned of Courtney Kerr’s new short haircut) I felt on top of the world with my fabulous hair and rocked it all night long. (Well, then the kids got sick and I rocked it for 3 1/2 more days- but hey, even dirty it still looked great!)

One of the services I’d also love to try is the B.Y.O.B. And yes, while they do offer cocktails, this actually means “Bring your own blow dryer.”

For $40, a stylist will spend one on one time with you while teaching you how to style your hair at home.  However, even if I become a pro after this “class”, I’m still going to treat myself with a trip to the Blow Out Lounge at Dear Clark every once in a while.
