Welcome to March, everyone! In this month’s roundup of family-friendly events, you’ll see lots of festivals and spring celebrations in the Dallas area. (Don’t forget to check out our March events guide on Collin County Moms and Fort Worth Moms for even more ideas.)

Dallas Blooms

This annual floral festival at the Dallas Arboretum features 500,000 blossoms through April 8 and is included with general admission. Tickets are $13 per child and $22 per adult.


Dallas Farmers Market

Shop for local meats, eggs, produce, and handmade goods every weekend at The Shed, year round. Bring the whole family–even the pup–to hear live music and watch chef demos. The market is open Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


Dallas Public Library

Find free activities this month for children of all ages! The filter function is really great—select your desired age group, library branch, program type, and more.


Ninjago: Dragons Rising!

Families can learn the art of Spinjitzu, build dragons with Legos, collect power pop badges, and have an epic dance party at Legoland Discovery Center in Grapevine. Through March 9. Tickets from $19.99. 10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., daily.


Texas Tulips

Drive up to Texas Tulips in Pilot Point to pick your own bouquet for $2.50/stem. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cost is $6 per person, free for children 12 months and younger.

Spring on the Farm

Visit Nash Farm in Grapevine every first Friday to learn about preparing the farm for spring, animal care, and garden care. Event is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Admission is $5 per person (ages three years and up).

North Texas Irish Festival

Enjoy music and dance, performances, sheep herding, storytelling, whiskey tasting, and more at this family-friendly celebration of the rich traditions of Irish and Celtic cultures. This long-standing festival celebrates its 42nd year at Fair Park. Free admission during happy hour! Ticket price varies by day; children under five are free.


March 2
Free First Saturdays

Free admission, 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Bring the whole crew to Nasher Sculpture Center to create, discover and make new memories together. Each month features a rotating schedule of things to see and do.


March 6
Women U-Night

Celebrate International Women’s Day at The Echo Lounge and Music Hall, and learn how the city is prioritizing women’s safety at night. Entertainment includes happy hour, self-defense, and a wine tasting. Tickets from $25 (free tickets available); 5:00-8:30 p.m.


March 7
JumpstART Stories & Art

Bring your toddlers, ages two and up, to make a special craft to celebrate Dr. Suess’s birthday at Irving Art Center. Event is from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Free.


March 10
Daylight Savings Begins

Reminder to spring forward an hour. Yay for more daylight!


Open Studio for Teens

Teens can create art, experiment with materials, learn new techniques and make new friends! This free program recurs every second Sunday at Irving Arts Center, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.


Second Sunday Funday

Adults and children of all ages create art together every second Sunday at Irving Arts Center. This month, play with patterns and enjoy quilt-inspired art activities with the Irving Quilt Guild. 1:00–4:00 p.m. Free.


March 11
Robots at the Palace Theatre

Enjoy a showing of Robots (rated PG) at the Palace Theatre at 10:00 a.m. Bring in a same day receipt from any Grapevine restaurant and get a FREE popcorn at the concession stand! Tickets cost $5.


Spring Break Cartoons and Crafts

Make a fun craft while watching a classic cartoon at Lancaster Theatre every first Tuesday. Admission includes a craft activity, small popcorn, drinks. Tickets are $6 per child, $3 per adult, and begins at 10:00 a.m. Event runs March 11-15.


March 13
Spring Break at the Nasher

Spend the afternoons, 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., at the Nasher for free programs that include a yarn art display, DIY coloring pages, and a sketching workshop. Runs March 13-17.


March 16
Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. on Greenville Avenue at Blackwell Street, and ends at SMU Boulevard and Central Expressway. The festival will run from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.


Through March 17
Spring Break at the Nasher

Spend the afternoons, 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., at the Nasher for free programs that include a yarn art display, DIY coloring pages, and a sketching workshop. Runs March 13-17.


March 23
Adult Easter Egg Hunt

Come out from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. for an unforgettable adult egg hunt! Bring your own beverages and baskets (sturdy enough to hold hidden stashes of beer). Cost is $15 per person.

The Oddities & Curiosities Expo

This traveling expo returns to Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center with vendors and artists showcasing taxidermy, preserved specimens, Halloween-inspired pieces, antiques, clothing, jewelry, and much more. A goth dream! Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.. Tickets $10 in advance, $15 at the door; kids 12 and under free.
