“Hey, do you know the best New York-style pizza in Dallas?”
“Where can we get some great pizza and beer around here?”
“We have a sitter tonight and we’re in the mood for some specialty pizza. Where should we go?”
How many times do you field these questions? My husband and I get asked these all the time and have a hard time pointing people in the right direction. We tend to be creatures of habit as well, so we have a hard time branching out to find new places. Not anymore! We went on a pizza MISSION to expand our list of recommendations and branch out to find new pizza places ourselves.
My first step was crowdsourcing. I posted in our neighborhood social media outlet for pizza recommendations and received 45 different places to try. We couldn’t try them all in just a short month of this experience, but we tried MANY and asked for help and write-ups from others. In this first step, we decided to break our list into categories and go from there. Here’s what we came up with…
BEST Date Night Pizza
BEST Takeout or BEST Pizza for a Group
BEST Pizza and Beer Hangout
BEST Specialty Pizza
And finally… KIDS EAT FREE PIZZA in DFW
BEST Date Night Pizza
Drake’s :: 5007 W Lovers Ln.
Reservations are hard to come by, but get one and go QUICKLY! This Old Hollywood-style steakhouse has amazing food and drinks, including incredible pizza. The dimly lit dining room with tables illuminated by candlelight makes for an intimate dinner setting. This is the hottest reservation in town—grab one now!
La Pizza at Eataly :: NorthPark Mall
HOT new restaurant in town! Leave the kids at home and enjoy a special treat with the freshest ingredients.
Urban Crust :: 1006 E 15th St. in Downtown Plano
Includes a rooftop bar!
Partenope Pizza :: 1903 Main St. in Downtown Dallas
They offer pizza and pasta making classes, too.
Eno’s Pizza Tavern :: 407 N Bishop Ave. in Bishop Arts
Check out the super cute patio.
Coal Vines :: Various locations
Great pizza and lovely wine selection.
BEST Takeout Pizza and Pizza for a Group
Carmine’s Pizzaria :: Locations in Richardson & north of the Galleria
Carmine’s offers classic NY-style pizza and literally has HUGE offerings! Their menu is enormous, and their pizzas are even bigger. This is a great place for variety and to feed lots of hungry people. It’s our go-to for party pizza.
Olive Oil’s Pizzeria :: 581 W Campbell in Richardson
Incredible variety and so delicious (there’s something so tasty in their sauce!). They have 6 different sizes of pizza available, from 10″ to 20.”
Kenny’s East Coast Pizza :: 4701 W Park in Plano

BEST Pizza and Beer Hangout
Industrial Pizza + Brew :: 100 S Central Expressway in Richardson
This one doubles as our vote for “Best Hometown Feel.” This great hometown hang has locally-sourced ingredients and rotating beers on tap. Chef Hunter Newsom is a Richardson native and a passionate individual, which is on display in full effect at Industrial Pizza.
Pizza Americana :: 800 W Arapaho in Richardson
Another great hometown spot with great food and drinks!
Greenville Avenue Pizza :: 1923 Greenville Ave.

Taverna Rossa :: 4005 Preston Rd. in Plano
Craft beers and good happy hour deals.
Pie Tap :: Various locations
Great happy hour and brunch menu!
BEST Specialty Pizza
Cane Rosso :: Various locations
I would call this one the most “Classic Dallas Pizza” spot. The vibe of Cane Rosso takes me back to weekend nights out with friends after moving to Dallas. They proudly use never-frozen, fresh-made-daily dough. Their accolades are miles long, but what they do for the community and with dog rescue is the most commendable.
India Chaat Cafe :: 18101 Preston Rd. in North Dallas
Best Indian pizzain town.
Thunderbird Pies :: 7328 Gaston Ave.
Best Detroit-style pizza (rectangle pizza, baked in a metal sheet pan).
Bay 34th Street :: 13605 Midway Rd.
Best New York-style pizza and pizza by the slice.
