We have all heard that our favorite fast casual Mexican restaurant has come under fire recently and they will be shutting down all their stores on February 8 for ‘staff training’. The question is, what are we supposed to do while they get their act together!?
As moms, we are all looking for eats that satisfy our desire for delicious food and our need to get in and out of a restaurant before any fit-throwing escalates into a full-blown meltdown. Fast casual restaurants are the perfect marriage of quality food and great service.
Here are five local fast casual restaurants that will fulfill your need for fresh, high quality food at a reasonable price and an accelerated pace:
bbbop – Seoul Kitchen
If you’re looking for something a little less ‘South of the Border’ and a little more across the globe, look no further than bbbop Seoul Kitchen. Whether you try a Bi Bim Bop bowl with locally sourced, fresh ingredients or you indulge in a plate of Not Your Mama’s Fried Chicken (which, honestly, you must try), you can’t go wrong with anything on this menu full of Korean comfort food with a modern twist.
Torchy’s Tacos
When you need a place to fill the burrito-sized hole in your life, Torchy’s Tacos may just fit the bill. What began as a food truck and a vespa has morphed into a taco-serving dynasty. With extras like house-made guacamole and organic, cane sugar Maine Root Sodas, it’s obvious that Torchy’s pays attention to the details. When you take your first bite of a Trailer Park or Brushfire taco, you may never look back.
Crisp Salad Co.
If you’re still holding on to your New Year’s resolutions, try this hipster-chic restaurant that specializes in upscale salads. You won’t feel like you’re missing out on anything because of the restaurants’ commitment to using seasonal fruits and vegetables combined with naturally raised meats.
Tacoria Tacos
Dallas has an extremely competitive taco market, but if you want authentic Mexican street tacos with quick, friendly customer service, this taqueria will be high on your list. I recommend the taco platter so you can try three different meats and if you add the charro beans (with bacon and jalapeรฑos), you won’t regret it.
Firecrust Neapolitan Pizza
This is not just any pizza. Firecrust serves authentic Neapolitan pizza, cooked to perfection in a 900 degree pizza oven for 90 seconds. They only use fresh ingredients and premium meats. Combined with the great prices and casual atmosphere, Firecrust has the chance to become your new favorite pizza joint.
There are so many amazing restaurants in DFW, I know I missed a few! What are your favorite fast casual restaurants? Share with us in the comments below!
Fast casual restaurants are totally the way to go when having little ones in the tow! Ever since having kids, my enjoyment of eating restaurant food just had to shift a bit. ๐ My current faves are: la madeleine, fast furious japanese grill, i luv pho, freebirds, and texadelphia. I do like bbbop and torchy’s but a bit far from where I live.
You forgot Bug Shucks/Aww shucks, totally family friendly!
