It’s not hard to find a park in Dallas on a nice day—there are plenty of parks around town that offer great playgrounds and decent walking trails. It is, however, hard to find a park that’s not completely crowded and overwhelmed with screaming kids and hovering parents.
Head to Highland Park
A few weekends back, when the weather was just starting to warm up, we headed over to Davis Park (across from Prather Park) to enjoy a little play time with friends.
Davis Park is located in the Highland Park area and sits nestled next to the charming Turtle Creek. We went on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and much to our surprise, the park was pretty empty and quiet.
In addition to having several swings, slides, and play areas to choose from, the trail that runs alongside Turtle Creek is just a few steps away. It’s the perfect landscape for a family stroll.
Davis Park is sun-dappled and full of shady spots to keep delicate skin out of the sun. There’s plenty of activities for entertainment for the kiddos and a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy family and friend time. We will definitely be returning to escape the usual playground crowds and enjoy the serene setting.
Know before you go: There is no bathroom at Davis Park, so try to plan accordingly!
