The writers of Dallas Moms Blog have always been a fairly tight knit group of girls. Each year, we carefully analyze and select who we’ll be adding to our team, not just because we want writers who will deliver informative and amazing posts for you each day, but because the moms who join our team instantly become a part of our crazy Dallas Moms Blog family.
And the heart of Dallas Moms Blog isn’t the goals and principals it was founded on, but who it was co-founded by. . .Lauren Kimmel.
We all come from different backgrounds, relationships, and parenting philosophies, but we all have a common bond that units us — we’re passionate about motherhood and our hometown of Dallas, and Lauren has made sure that each new writer felt this way over the years which has made each one of us a better mother, better writer, and better Dallasite.
I apologize for oozing cheese in this post, but it’s true!
It’s a happy time for the Kimmel family as they started a new chapter in their life outside of Dallas this week! And the Dallas Moms Blog team felt it was our duty to send her off in style with a little GIRLS NIGHT OUT right before she left!
We wanted her farewell to represent the city she was leaving, so we chose a restaurant in one of Dallas’s iconic shopping symbols–Galleria Dallas. On the bottom floor attached to their beautiful outdoor alleyway is a fairly new restaurant called Townhouse Kitchen + Bar.
Its positioning across from the Grill on the Alley made it slightly intimidating for many of us and we weren’t quite sure what to expect as far as atmosphere, pricing, and table availability, but it far exceded our expectations!
If you’re ever looking for a fabulous girls night out or date night (or even special Father’s Day dinner — hint hint!), we can now highly, highly recommend Townhouse!
The inside had an open, modern feel and was very inviting for our laid-back group! The waiters were so friendly and not a single wine glass was ever left empty thanks to our attentive wait staff.
And don’t get us started on the food. From the salads to the dessert, everything was fabulous!
There’s a little something for everyone at Townhouse. Several girls ordered the Daily Mac and we were all a little jealous when it arrived– an upscale macaroni and cheese with cherry tomatoes, asparagus tips, roasted mushrooms and a sprinkling of goat cheese.
I ordered the Chicken Milanese, and although I probably should have saved some for left overs, I scarfed the whole thing down.
And the Gooey Butter Cake…it’s described as a berry compote with a creme fraiche, but all you need to know is that you HAVE to order this at the end of your meal. A memorable dessert is an understatement.
The quality of ingredients, the portion sizes were all just right for the price of the meal.
We spent most of the meal talking about how delicious our food was that the sadness of the night was almost washed away.
Over great food we talked about the last few years, what Lauren’s plans were for the future, and all the amazing things that were now happening for Dallas Moms Blog (like our exciting play dates and upcoming October Mom’s Night Out in Park Cities! — Shh, you heard it first!!)
At the end of the night, we had a little fun in the Galleria Dallas Alley, and said our “See You Later”s! We couldn’t have imagined a more fun Girls Night Out and want to thank Townhouse Kitchen + Bar for helping us make the evening memorable!
