Dallas Moms Blog partnered with our friends and sponsors Whole Foods DFW for our 2016 Easter Egg Hunt. Upon discovering they were opening up a brand new location in Richardson, we joined forces once again to bring you this behind the scenes look at this new location!
Anyone who knows me knows I’m a bit of a crazy person when it comes to the food I feed my children. I might even say “The Dirty Dozen” is my second language. I’ve also been known to go to three different grocery stores on a regular basis for one week’s worth of groceries, just to get the preferred items on my grocery list. So when I found out Whole Foods at City Line in Richardson would be my new “neighbor,” I was extremely excited!
Aside from being able to accomplish the daunting weekly task of grocery shopping for my family in such a beautiful store, there are a few reasons why Whole Foods is my preferred grocer. I was fortunate enough to be invited to a sneak peek of the new City Line store last week, and got to learn a few things about Whole Foods that made me love them every more. From the fresh soaps to the rows of perfectly organized products, this store has it all!
Why Do I Love Whole Foods?
Quality :: They are committed to offering the highest quality natural and organic products available. For me this is important because I want to be able to trust the products I serve my kids at the dinner table are the best. Whole Foods was also the first grocer to be completely transparent about GMO (genetically modified organisms) labeling. I don’t know about you, but GMO food is just not something I’m comfortable feeding my still developing children.
I love that Whole Foods has made it standard practice to only feature products that are properly labeled. Poor quality meat seems to be a hot topic lately as well. With hormones & antibiotics being added to everything, it can be tough to find meat that doesn’t cause you to sprout a second head. Whole Foods takes extra precaution to find out exactly where their meat comes from along with learning how the animals were raised and treated. I’m more than happy to let them do my homework for me!
Convenience :: I have two words for you; Concierge. Service. In my opinion, this is pretty much the most genius idea since the invention of the lightbulb. In the very near future Whole Foods at City Line will offer the option to purchase your groceries online, and simply call the concierge desk when you arrive for curbside pick up. Not having to drag my little ones along with me to grocery shop? Sign me up! Another convenient service I recently learned Whole Foods offers is the option to have your seafood prepped any way you’d like. For example, want to serve salmon for dinner but are running short on time? Whole Foods has you covered! You can simply request to have the representative at the seafood counter de-bone and steam your fish for you. Voila, dinner is served!
Entertainment :: My husband and I are always looking for new and fun ideas for a date night. When we are lucky enough to secure a night on the town, it typically involves dinner and a drinks at a local restaurant. Usually it’s the same 2-3 restaurants on rotation. I am so excited to be able to add Whole Foods at City Line to that list! They have designed a very modern and hip bar area on one side of the store that offers a plethora of tasty brews as well as a variety of fresh food options. Bonus: There’s a pretty killer patio as well!
Community :: One thing that makes Whole Foods so unique is each location is run as it’s own entity. They aren’t taking corporate directives on how and when they should get involved. It’s up to the individual stores to decide what events will allow them the biggest impact on their local community. One thing City Line specifically will be doing to get to know their new neighbors, is hosting a free children’s story and craft time. These will be offered starting April 27th and 29th. This is an excellent opportunity for moms to get out of the house with their littles and maybe even get a little grocery shopping done. I’m a big fan of the multi-task outing!
There are a ton more reasons I am excited for this new location of Whole Foods Market to open, but why take my word for it? You can visit them for yourself at their official Grand Opening TODAY! Oh and if you’re like me and you love a discount, you can find each location’s weekly sales and coupons by checking out the location nearest you online.
Welcome to the neighborhood, Whole Foods! We’re going to be real good friends!
