Dallas Moms was hosted at MidiCi Neopolitan Pizza to bring you to this review. All opinions are 100% our own!
Once upon a time, not too long ago, there was a blissfully (ignorant) couple that thought eating out with children was easy! When a new restaurant would open or they were craving their local favorite, all it took was a diaper bag stocked with pouches, snacks, and toys and they were off for a few hours of dining service. The sweet little baby would smile excitedly with each new flavor being introduced off of mom or dad’s plate. He’d be entertained by his doting parents and when that slowly began to lose his interest, there was always patio dining. . .Mother Nature would step in with all the new sounds and sensations while mom and dad clinked their glasses at the easy life.
Fast forward 4 children and 8 years later and that loving mama — Me — is now a stressed out, frazzled mess at the thought of going out to eat. We no longer know the servers by name at some of our old favorites and I don’t think I can name one new, “in” restaurant. Now, choosing to go out to eat is 100% determined by how much stamina we have to push through the “I can’t find my shoes!” all the way to “Why can’t we have dessert!?”
And even once we’ve made that decision, we have to decide if we put on our battle armor and choose a restaurant that may not have chicken tenders.
But, that’s okay! My husband and I know that even dining out is a stage of life and these days, it’s easier to just keep it simple. On the days when we just can’t cook one more meal, I’m thankful for restaurants that understand parenting is hard, but you don’t have to sacrifice good food for family-friendly.
This past week, our Dallas Moms contributor team were treated to a meal at MidiCi Neopolitan Pizza in Preston Hollow Village, and I’ve already added it to our kid-approved restaurant list!
3 Reasons You’ll Love MidiCi For Your Family
There’s Something for Everyone!
We order pizza delivery a LOT. It’s a frequent favorite, but you’re often substituting quality for ease. We’ve been on the hunt for a local pizzeria that isn’t too crafty in their menu that the kids will snub their noses, but still has fresh, quality ingredients that Mom & Dad’s taste buds will appreciate.
MidiCi is that perfect compromise!
We tried everything from appetizers to salad to their Napoli oven-baked pizzas, and there’s something for every person on their menu. My shared menu favorites were the Housemade Meatballs with Fresh Mozzarella served with wood-fired Neapolitan bread and Brushetta with Balsalmic drizzle.
If you’re not craving pizza, the salads were large enough to share across the table OR just eat on your own. Each salad was freshly made, used organic ingredients, and had a housemade balsamic reduction. Their menu also features wood-fired calzones and over 8 different pasta selections.
Of course, the Neopolitan pizza is why you come! The pizzas are freshly made to order and can be served quickly thanks to their wood-fired ovens. Like 90 seconds and they’re done quickly!
If you want to be adventurous, the Chicken Pesto and Margherita & Prosciutto were delicious!
For your kiddos who need something a little more mainstream, they have a flavorful Margherita, Double Pepperoni, and Three Cheese to choose from.
Kids Eat Free on Tuesdays
Yes, MidiCi…You had me at “Kids Eat Free.” My family refers to Dallas Moms’ Kids Eat Free list frequently and discovering new locations that offer this financial reprieve for parents is always exciting!
Each Tuesday, kids can enjoy one complimentary pizza or small pasta with the purchase of an adult entree.
The Dessert
Whether you need a “we made it through dinner” treat or a little bribe to keep dinner sane, MidiCi has nailed it with this dessert. From house-made berry compote to the Nutella & Belgian dark chocolate, it’s one the whole family will love.
MidiCi Neopolitan Pizza is located in Preston Hollow Village (Central Expy & Walnut Hill) on the northeast side of the center. In addition to Kids Eat Free Tuesdays, you’ll find other daily specials (like 1/2 off bottles of wine on Wednesdays and football game day specials) and Happy Hour deals (Everyday from 3-7PM), plus special events happening monthly!
