If you’re looking for virtual extracurriculars or learning opportunities involving the arts, you’ll be pleased to find that Dallas provides quite a few choices! And since virtual classes can be held/attended from anywhere, we’ve included a couple non-local options, as well.
Dallas Museum of Art :: They have virtual classes for toddlers up to age 12 at various times throughout the week. The classes for ages 6-12 can be done alone or with a caregiver. Purchase your tickets online, member discounts apply.
Pigment School of the Arts :: Choose from weekday afternoon multimedia classes or themed Saturday workshops, all done over Zoom. For ages 5 and up.
North Texas Performing Arts :: So many virtual class options this fall and not just for acting. Choose from à la carte sessions or a 4-week series of live Zoom classes (you’ll receive a recording of the class after it happens to watch on demand). Priced very reasonably and scholarships are available. Sign up at the link!
Dallas Children’s Theater :: DCT offers virtual classes for different age groups and experience levels from Pre-K to teen. They also have Homeschool virtual theater classes. Check out their Quick Facts for commonly-asked questions.
Kid Art Dallas :: They now offer highly interactive and dynamic Zoom classes for ages 4-6 and Mommy and Me Zoom classes for ages 2-4. See here for the fall schedule.
Craft Factor :: Online classes for all ages and skill levels in a variety of mediums. They add new classes all the time, so if you don’t see what you’re looking for, reach out and let them know! See schedule and book classes at the link.
J’s Art Studio :: Fall online classes begin August 24 and span 16 weeks, supplies included in tuition. Classes are weekday afternoons, divided by age groups (4-5, 6-8, 8-10, 10-12, and teen).
Oil & Cotton :: Lots of weekly virtual class options this fall, from toddler to teen. Homeschool weekly art class for ages 5-12 also offered.
Dallas Magic Academy :: Sign up for an online course and your child will learn to apply the 8 key traits of a true magician. “A life skills course cleverly designed as a magic class.” Props and course materials are specifically made for smaller hands.
Music Together Dallas :: Early childhood music and movement parent-child classes for kids ages 0-5. See a complete schedule of their virtual classes here.
Kindermusik :: Find your closest location and then check the schedule for their virtual class options for preschoolers.
The Dallas School of Music :: Private online music lessons in piano, violin, guitar, voice, and much more. Hop on to their site and fill out a student profile to get started – you’ll be able to select preferred times, lesson duration, and things like that.
Gray School of Music :: All classes are online at the longest-established school of music in Dallas. Choose from piano, guitar, violin, drum or voice lessons.
Yousician :: This one’s an award-winning, highly rated app, teaching guitar, bass, piano, ukelele, and voice. Get real time feedback and teacher instruction and even compete with others in weekly challenges.
