My ability to parent well (or not-so-well sometimes) is fueled by a heavy dose of caffeine. I make a pretty good cup of coffee at home (see my recipes for homemade coffee creamers post), but sometimes I just need to have a good cup of coffee made by someone else. And as a stay-at-home mom of four, I usually have my children with me. If you find yourself in the same boat, or if you are looking for some good spots for one-on-one time with your kids, here are some of the best kid-friendly coffee shops in Dallas.
Staycation | Downtown Richardson
This new-ish addition to Richardson is amazing and kid-friendly. The converted house is cute and cozy, and there is a huge backyard with picnic tables, hammocks, and plenty of space for kids to play. They serve delicious baked goods, coffee, and seasonal drinks (including some specifically for kids!). There’s easy parking in a large parking lot, too.
Cuppa | Irving Bible Church
This coffee shop is full of comfy chairs and tables to work, study, or read. It’s kid-friendly with an indoor play place and outdoor playground.
George Coffee + Provisions | Coppell
This Coppell coffee shop is as yummy as it is adorable. It’s located across from the Farmers Market, a playground, and a splash area. Grab a drink and treat to-go and let the kids run wild!
Lemma | Downtown Carrollton Square
Lemma is a favorite with Carrollton residents. The menu includes coffee, tea, pastries, and sandwiches.
Native Coffee | Farmers Branch
Native Coffee offers a carefully curated coffee selection, seasonal drinks (many are caffeine free), and really cool vibes. Plus, beautiful latte art!
Pink Coffee | North Garland
Cute décor and an awesome seasonal menu make this Garland coffee shop a must-visit!
The Modern Well | Downtown Rowlett
Coffee and pastries supplied by La Casita Bakeshop? Sounds like a perfect combo if you’re in or near Rowlett. (Side note: We recommend checking out La Casita’s home base in Richardson for even more baked goodies.)
Union Cafe | Dallas, Cedar Springs
This coffee shop has a big outdoor space with lots of tables. It’s great for both kids and pets. This is also a great place to work remotely.
La La Land Kind Cafe | Lower Greenville
La La Land has large grassy (turf) areas in both the front and back with couches and plenty of umbrellas for shade. There’s a separate gated dog run on the side, so you can bring your furry friends along, too. Parking is easy with a large, free parking lot.
Summer Moon | Frisco
This kid-friendly coffee shop is great for people watching. They offer kiddie temp drinks without caffeine (so you don’t have to share). Additionally, they offer free wi-fi and a pet-friendly patio.
Are there any kid-friendly coffee shops we missed? I’d love to hear about more in the comments. Stay strong and well-caffeinated, my friends!
Hope Coffee in Sunnyvale is also another kid-friendly shop. It has a green turf space outside with yard games & is a short walk from Sunnyvale’s park, pond, covered playground!
